[i42] Foodage!

I was toying with the idea of just making a whole lasagna and shoving it in a cool bag for eats when I got there. Though with no fridge i may need help eating it...

As for delectable cakes i may ask the oracle (my mother who is a caterer) to suggest cakes that are easily transportable and also primarily delicious.

Any cake that can fit in a box is easily transportable. Doesnt really matter at lan if the icing gets on the box :p

To be honest, I reckon you could get a lasagne to last for a cupla days. If you make it thurs morning, it should still be fine by fri evening. When i make one, I usually just leave it sitting on the hob overnight and its fine. Get a cool bag and a few ice blocks to keep it cold. Or even freeze a portion, so it slowly defrosts. By the time its defrosted, whack it in the microwaves and huzzah: food!

mmm oxymorons. I vaguely remember big discussions for i40 about going out somewhere for a meal. In the end we were all rather lame and just had a chinese delivered (collected) instead :p

I'm sure there must be some good local pubs that do good pub grub.

Are you saying toby food + crap food is an oxymoron thus toby food is nice food (not that i said toby was crap!)

Or are you sayign "crap" and "food" is an oxymoron with the link to toby being an accident?

ill rephrase, as the way I originally wrote it now, on second thoughts, wasn't very clear

"I'm looking for food thats not crap"
"Toby carvery"

:)

It's a bit.... meh, in my opinion. I reckon you can probably get a lot nicer food served to your table in a local pub in newbury, rather than at a toby carvery. Depends what sort of food youre looking for I guess.

Ahh.. well it's better than LAN food ;)

Like I said if you know any good pubs around there, do tell!

No idea. I imagine googling / looking on teh good pub guide might help. Will have a try later on if i remember. would be nice to try and get somewhere thats unique to newbury, rather than just a chain that I could goto back at home.
