Important issue regarding cows!

I think its more important to wonder if the cow actually has a choice between sitting or lying down..

It looks to me like it has just had an unsuccessful trip across a mine field.

Oh no, anything can do manouveures. It just requires skill. Unfortunately, cows do not have skill, or intelligence, which is why they live in a green field and yet can be found with fur almost any colour except green!
