Im actually curious to know how a hunter fiegning death causes a wipe exactly when the tank dies, i seriously cant think of any situation in which that could happen.
Either way i know PvP hunters who didn't learn flar becasue "it is useless" and same in regards to traps.
I had to try and heal a retridin who was tanking in retridin gear but with a sword and shield and insisted that all his deaths were because of my lack of healing, nothing to do with the fact he had no defensive gear or abilities and refused to believe i had comfortably healed in T5 instances.
There are plenty more i could think of but i had a wonderfully retarded moment with a shaman while questing in dragon blight:
Basically me Aymasia and Delaney doing some quests together and was doing a quest in which you have to summon 3 seperate named characters at different locations with an item and kill them. We arrived at the final location, cleared it, summoned the character and killed him. at this point we had a nearby horde shaman wander over and near enough word for word said the following:
Shaman: Oh my god you fucking ass hole n00bs, i've been waiting for him to spawn for fucking ages and you ass holes didn't even bother to invite me into the group, people like you make me sick go kill yourself!
Our reply: You know you summon this mob with an item right? he doesn't spawn normally
Shaman: oh......... sorry
I couldn't help but publically laugh and mock the guy for a bit

The only ones left alive at the time was me, the tank and the hunter. The tank died, so he decided to feign death and not even callng his pet t any oint dring raid(a fai n it's own right), leaving me to get smashed apart before I could even Holy Shock the boss. Given the circemstance, if he stayed upright we could of killed it. >.>

Well thats not exactly *causing* a wipe which is what confused me about that statement originally but yea there were, and probably still is a large number of idiot hunters that think because they are survival or Marksman that their pet is not worth using.
Whether or not in that situation not feigning could have finished off that 2% is arguable, i presume your on about a 25 man raid and 2% health is ALOT of fighting, one person, unless they are truly epic DPS is not goign to do 2% damage by him/herself in the time a boss can run around and have his way with the rest of the raid.
Though the fact he didnt have his pet out from the start probably could have accounted for alot more dps, and its the hunters that claim havig a pet as MM or surv is useless that makes me want to slap them
