Let me tell you about Telford!

Hi,

Some of you know me some of you don't, this is irrelevant. I'm hopefully going to be confirming my place next week for i43 so if you don't know me before then you will when we get there!

I know Telford really well and I want to make this public knowledge in case your looking for anything imparticular.

Telford is a bit of a dive to be honest and there inst much to see... They have a small-ish shopping centre where you can grab all the necessities which is handy and its pretty much on the doorstep of the train station.

The hotels have been listed by Multiplay and I know some of you have booked already. If you are finding no room in places try Shifnal, its a tiny town just outside Telford. Its a really quiet place packed with curry houses and pubs and in my honest opinion the best place to each around the Telford area.

Unlike the Coventry venue the conference centre is pretty much on a main road/round about/dual carriage way so its massively accessible.

The closest food chain I think is ASDA with a Tesco within 2 minutes drive too.

There is alot to do if you wanna get out and explore the place.

Fast Food Chains... We have McDonalds at the Shopping Mall and another one further on up the road twinned with a Pizza Hut.

We have a Burger King at the M54 J4 Services which is where Shifnal is.

KFC Is around but for the love of me I cant remember where it is...

I will be down in Shifnal a few days before lan as its where my in laws live... Ill palm the Mrs and the little one off there and ill be THN's bitch for the long weekend.

Dont hesitate to ask anything at all... I also mentioned to Bloke about a curry night if you guys were up for it... escape the burnt bbq for a night ;)

Usually bbq ( only retards manage to burn food on a bbq) is for breakfasts at the last few lans ive done. dont think we have bbq dinners. Then one night we order a curry and another we have chinese.

So a curry night and chinese night are already in the calendar :p

Which takeaways would you reccommend in telford?

OR ELSE!

And getting off asses? Well we had big plans for the last few lans to all go somewhere for sunday lunch, but it failed cos people are non committal and lame, so we just ordered takeaway instead :D

Although there might be more in telford than there is in newbury.

I dunno I did like the feasting at i40, the jealous looks of people who sniffed us out was worth it.

That I can agree on... there is alot more of pubs and eateries around Telford... but you can not visit Telford and not go for a curry and a pint in Shifnal... they are so country makes you feel like celebrity's

Yeh... they are country... they think all people from the big citys have money. they can never do enough for you

I'm concerned backwater and country are becoming synonymous. I would worry that a potnoodle would be considered a curry.

As with my opening sentence... Some of you know me some of you don't.

Wol you don't know me so don't assume that I am small and that I am a child, I dont like where your are taking this.

Oh and btw... For the record I suffer from a recently diagnosed condition called IHH, the medication that goes with it affects the way my brain processes actions. I have hard trouble talking sometimes and find it difficult to get what I need to say down on paper/text.

That being said there is nothing physically wrong with me but again for the record im older and probably wiser than you sir...

It's one thing to seek an apology over a misjudgement, quite another to finish it with another counter judgement.

I didn't assume you're small, nor a child. It's just called banter.

We had someone else recently on here who didn't take banter very well, and well..... now he's not here anymore!

No offence was meant personally towards you, so my apologies if you saw it this way. If you knew me (again, which you don't so it's not something you could have judged), you'd know it's not a personal attack, and its just online banter. If you ask any of the other lot that I talk to regularly online, they'll be able to confirm that this is just me.

You may be wiser, but you have shown a disregard for correctly using English, which irks me somewhat. This is just my personal taste, and not necesssarily others, but it's just something you have to put up with with me, unless you're adamant that you wish it to become a problem between us.

Whichever way, all browsers support some form of spellchecking which are free to use. If you struggle with basic grammar, whether it be because of a medical condition or not, there are things there to help you. Even moreso, anyone who claims that they can't spell things online because they have dyslexia just isn't trying.

On another forum which I frequent where SPaG is even more important, they'd take incredibly unkindly to you claiming any form of medical issue. I'm more sympathetic however, so you've got off a lot more lightly than some other people I've seen in the past.

So apologies if I offended, but don't take it to heart too much, it's not personal :)

P.S - Age is merely an arbitrary number with respects to how sensible one is. Please don't use the "I'm older than you, therefore I know better" line :)

P.P.S - Or you'll end up like bloke, who I constantly mock for being old ;-)

What I meant by "You dont know me" is at one point in my life I was overly aggressive and I dont want to "unleash the dragon" over some forum policing.

If it is ircking you that my grammar (not spelling) is not up to your standard then you might want to talk to some one about it. Tell them how you feel when some one writes their instead of there. believe me when I say that this is not by choice. A few years back everything was relatively normal, now it isnt. Simple as that.

Id banter all day with you about football or games fella... just not about my lack of grammar for which ever reason. I dont need a spell checker as I splle jsut fnie.

Frankly its insulting that you would insult someone thats offering a little help.

I know. I was only trying to offer a bit of help in my previous post, so can I ask why you took that tone with your reply?

It was your spelling ("alot" < That's not a word) as well, not just grammar :)

And at one point in my life I had a very agressive temper, but now I've matured I've got over it, until people like you come along, so please don't try and pull that one either.

If it is ircking you that my grammar (not spelling) is not up to your standard then you might want to talk to some one about it. Tell them how you feel when some one writes their instead of there.

I did. I told the source of the problem about it, and then this happened! If I didn't tell the source of the problem about it, how's it going to help? So I told you my problem, and then you went off on one. I'm merely trying to help you.

So a word of advice: If you don't want to banter over it, then just leave it. You didn't have to reply, yet you chose to, merely setting yourself up more for me to continue.

Are you going to be mature enough now to just let it lie? Or are you going to try and take the argumentative high ground still?

Also, I'm intrigued, what is this IHH thing? I'm guessing it's not to do with Hedgehog hormones as we found on google :p

P.S - And seriously "It's true - I am older than him"?! I thought people grew out of that when they moved to secondary school! Or are you one of those people who sees someone with ginger hair and points and laughs saying "ginger"?

I'll start treating you as being older than me when you start acting like it :)
