Yeah you have improved, although there is still room for improvement :p. atleast your posts are now legible.

Btw this isn't really a topic for the "Soap Box".

You've improved, yes, but it would've been hard to get any worse...

Decky,

I laud any serious attempt by any member to improve their posting standard, whether it be simple spelling and grammar improvements or bringing better content into our community. I'm pleased that you are working on this.

However, I honestly haven't been paying attention to individual posts, by and large, over the past fortnight and so I find that your poll does not contain an option for me. Generally try to include both a middle ground option (e.g. "Maybe... not really noticed") and an abstain option (e.g. "Just let me see the results!") when setting a poll designed to gather opinions from others. Of course, some polls require a boolean choice but they are the exception, I find.

Keep working on it. I suggest punctuation should be your next focus; lack of full stops really hampers a reader's ability to make sense of your input.

I've seen a noticeable improvement in the grammar of many peoples posts recently (including yours). However, as the others have said, there is still room for improvement.

I generally find that using the preview post option works well for me. Once I've typed my gibberish ;) , I hit the preview post button and read the post from the top as though it had been posted by someone else. If you read it to yourself thoroughly, you can quite often notice spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, lack of punctuation and other things which may need adjusting.

Having said that, while it is great that you've decided to improve your grammar, I hope it's from a genuine desire to better yourself and not just because other people have been having a go at you. One of the best parts of being in a community like THN is dealing with a wide variety of people with often vastly different personalities. The way you post can be very indicative of your individuality, and should not be given up because other people say so. If that is who you are, then that is what other people should learn to deal with (obviously within reason - i.e following forum rules).

decky I applaud your efforts mate, grammar is a tricky beast that you either understand the rules for and through practice you implement almost unthinkingly. Or, its something you never see a need for as long as the message gets across okay.

Have you improved, yes you have and well done for that (also well done for starting this post). You've definately covered a lot of progress but there is more work to be done. For example you should always capitalise "I".

If you have a spare few minutes then play:

I also reccomend that you save some money and buy the book, improvements will come through exposure and understanding and the book provides both.

Regards

?Tu hablas espanol? Yo pens? yo era el solo persona. Pero, mi espanol no es muy bueno. Tu gramatica esta mejor, pero tu necessitos usar capitols y periodos. Es difficil a leer su mensajes sin capitols o periodos.

Edit: It seems the accencted e and the upside down question mark are in the same boat as the pounds symbol.

Fine :P

For those that don't habla espanol:
You speak Spanish? I thought I was the only person. But, my Spanish is not very good. Your grammar is better, but you need to use capitals and periods. It is difficult to read your messages without capitols or periods.

Practicing for my Spanish 2 final that's coming up :)

The focus of Macca's comments were, I believe, directed for The Soap Box and it's more serious and discursive nature. Hard to discuss when you don't know the language. ;)

That said, I'd have been fine with your original post if you'd posted (perhaps in a spoiler block?) the translation with the post.

I am rather offended that a few of you have chosen to say "NO" in my poll. However, I will do my very best to change these opinions :)

Decky..Dont be upset with the result mate (you did ask us after all)..Two thirds of the community have the opinion that you have improved your grammar.
Thats not a bad start at all in my opinion.
Get yourself a dictonary by your computer, and dazzle us with new words you have learned :)

Another useful tool, if you don't fancy using MSWord to spell check your posts, or for some god-forsaken reason it doesn't work, try this easy to use online spell checker spellcheck.
