okay, here goes:

A man makes a big mistake while intoxicated. He tries to undo it, but the measures he employ ends up getting him into an even bigger mess. Together with his mistreated assistant he has to try and adapt to a completely new environment. They meet some distant relatives, and confusion/hilarity ensues. The assistant rather likes this place, and decides to stay when it's time to go back, switching places with his relative. All ends well for everyone, with the possible exemption of the aforementioned relative.

That said, I don't understrand the reference to river of her childhood days.
