This game has been long overdue.

It will likely be very good, perhaps even excellent, ns1 was so good that any slight improvement on that would still have been worth buying. The video looks like they have taken this game to an exceptional new level.

Bothers me you can't pre-order it on steam - is it not going to be available by DLC via steam with auto-patching?

I will buy when it is released, hopefully via steam, and hopefully before end of 2009...am sure I have heard prospective release dates for this game before and nothing materialised.

Anyhow to finish on a positive note, as already has been said on this thread, ns1 was the game that brought most of the original THN'ers together so am sure there are some intense strategic alien warfare battles waiting to be fought maybe even playing in a ladder/league.

This months PC gamer magazine had a little on the game.

It is currently been written by 4 people, they have abondonded the half life source engine in favour of writing their own - which is not too disimilar in appearance to the DOOM 3 one.

Those who pre-order automatically get the privalige (if you could call it that) to beta test.

The Pre-order at this point is to help them keep funding going while they're finishing the code for an alpha release , I'd imagine enough people would have been more than happy to pre-order it, or maybe even get the special edition pre-order.
