[Tech] New Graphics Card

Ok, to have a little intro to why and how I am getting a new Graphics card, I made a bet with my father, that if he would sell his old house in Norway for the price I suggested, he would get me a new graphics card.
As some of you may know, I technically oblivious compared to you computer geniuses. So I would greatly appreciate any suggestions and pointers as to what I should get. I would be willing to milk my lovely father for €500,- tops.
Here are some specs:

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.50GHz
L2 cache: 6.144 kb
4 gigs ram
Motherboard: PEGATRON CORPORATION Benicia

If any other information is required, I will post it when requested.

500 big ones on a Graphics card alone should easily see you getting either a Radeon HD6970 or an nVidia GTX580 :) Both VERY top of the line cards :D

At which point you might find your system causing you a bottleneck .... ;)

There's ALWAYS a bottleneck somewhere and that processor is more than capable of keeping up.

After sorting out that GFX card the next bottleneck will be the hard drive.

The GeForce GTX460 is apparently a lovely card for about €156. The tech guy on PC gamer highly recommends it and I find he's rarely wrong. However be advised the card is about a year old now, so you may want to get something a bit more beefy. But saying that the card should fit nicely in your current rig without the system bottlenecking.

Spending all the money on a high end card would be a complete waste of money as it is in such a class if it's own you won't even vaguely get the most out of it.

If you aren't going to be upgrading anything else in the box you want to spend no more than about 150-200. That way you will be able to get the best out of the card.

GTX 560ti isn't half bad...
6950 will rock out too.
Can't go wrong on either side in the upper mid level to be fair.

Settling for the GTX 460.
The fan on my current card went derp, so I'm forced to get this video card asap with ny vacation starting this week.
So I've been looking around on the internet for a place to order, but all I'm getting are these shady national sites (I live in the Netherlands.)
So I was hoping one of you could recommend me a international trustworthy website where I can order this badboy.

Finally ordered it at Max ICT for a total of €187,54
Should be in in about 4-8 days.

Edit: Would I also need a power supply to run this?

I presume you already have a power supply?

A card like that will most certainly need at least one 6/8 pin power plug connected, if not two.

ooooooh, if your power supply is only 300W then you'll definitely be wanting a newer one...

So, how does this power supply upgrading work. Do I need to have 2 or do I need to upgrade my old one?
-What product should I be looking at?
-Can I replace/add it myself?
-Will I need a new case aswell?
