So, how does this power supply upgrading work. Do I need to have 2 or do I need to upgrade my old one?
-What product should I be looking at?
-Can I replace/add it myself?
-Will I need a new case aswell?

You will replace your existing one.

You should be able to do it yourself with no problems, it will simply be a case of unplugging all of the existing cables, unscrewing the PSU from the back of your case and then taking it out, replacing it with the new one, and then plugging in the cables from the new PSU.

Assuming your existing case has the standard ATX form factor then any ATX form factor PSU will (should) also fit into that case.

Just don't do what this person did:

Hail! Thanks a lot.
And that does indeed look like a wrong aproach to the problem.

Almost forgot to ask, but could you please give me a direction as to what I should be looking for.

It also depends on your budget - I personally prefer modular, but that is something you (usually) pay a bit extra for.

I have a Corsair HX750, which has a 7 year warranty on it too.

i like a really quiet PSU so i have this also recommend BeQuiet for more quiet PSU, and Corsair for normal ones. apparently the OCZ ones are ok too, parents have had a 500W for about 18 months now with no issues.

I would most certainly, however, recommend at least a 600W PSU, given that the minimum recommendation is 500W

They sell that in PC World over here for £45, with a 1.13 exchange rate, that's not bad at all.
