Ordered, with pretty much exactly the same specifications bob set out above, except for an Antec 900 case instead of a P182. I've kept Q6600 for now, instead of splashing out on a Q9450, with a view to upgrading some time down the line. Likewise, i've gone with the same X38 that bob chose, good reviews and enough insurance for the future without paying silly money for overpriced luxuries like DDR3.

Good call matey I've just noticed that at the moment all the P182 seem to be £90 not sure what happened there as when I got mine in November it was £75.
In which case good call on the p900. I still think it's ugly as sin, but it's in Scotland so won't affect me at all. Also with that jump in price is more reasonable to get the p900

It wont be come march, itll be about 1 meter from your face, and ill kindly remind you of the fact on a regular basis . Thanks for the tips on components by the way, always handy to have a bob around.

Tets, stick it under the desk, just leave bob with his case on the desk because he gets so much less space

I moved my box from top to bottom half way though I32 because the amount of room I needed ( and being sat between Vibs "gaming" mac of doom and BOB himself was a little claustraphobic

yeah at least we won't have the MAC making all the noise in the world this time. Shame Vibs' can't make it though. Also you moved it because your case is an absolute fatty.

AND its gotten heavier since I32 ....

Adding aluminium fans to plastic brackets is like a suicide wish
I'm thinking about physically weighing the box to see how much heavier it is than Vib's pile of mac

Looks good. I was tempted to go for an upgrade in the next couple of months to a quad core Yorkfield jobbie, but I've just read that Nehalem (out later this year) uses a new socket (1366), so I've decided to wait and see what happens.
