Knowing the gaming industry, I genuinely wouldn't be surprised to see the prices on next-gen titles go UP, even with the dereased ability of many gamers to buy new titles when they lose the ability to trade in old ones.
Also, I don't think the gaming industry realises how much damage they're going to be doing to their brick-and-mortar establishments by trying to murder preowned sales. Unlike with PC Gaming, I do think the console market benefits from the brick-and-mortar stores, and killing it off seems ludicrous, especially when the online pass system works perfectly well (people can complain about it all they want, but it's a way to still get the game cheaper than full price, and the devs/publishers still get some money, so everyone's at least a little happy).
Still... I'm not too directly fussed by all of this. More glory to the PC Gaming Master Race, right?
