You'll be happy to know that magicka now regens about as fast as fatigue did while walking in morrowind. :s

Has anyone tried the Thieves Guild missions yet?

They're ace :). I know it's difficult to compare experiences with everything being modelled on your level, but I joined at about Lvl18 after the Fighters Guild tried to get me to murder a dungeon full of them with that f00l, Magir :).

They're much more enjoyable, all the sneaking and lock picking makes a nice change from the Mage and Fighter hack 'n' slash :D.

The Grey Fox mystery is great too, who is he? It's so tantalising! I'm sure I'll find out when I get him the boots of mega-jump!

Nice stuff, but can people please use spoiler tags if they want to go into more detail!? Just because I don't have the game yet :(.

If you say anything without spoiler tags I will hunt you down :p edit: dez beat me to it ;)

Although the last few missions I did involved people who I couldn't sneak past, so I just ran in, grabbed the stuff, and took off. Crazy bastards chasing me the whole time...

It was funny when I had a half dozen blind monks chasing me through the wilderness, though... :D

I didn't think there where any spoilers in there !

Or in here either! :p

Though, what do you mean by spoiler?

Any game information past the first 10 minutes?

It's hard to say and varies wildly. For some films I go out of my way to avoid all contact with the film's literature, advertising, discussions, anything, because I want to experience the film as cleanly as possible.

I think, for Oblivion, anything beyond the first section where you generate your character, in terms of plot is a spoiler. Then anything that is a significant part of exploration for the game is probably also a spoiler -- stuff you can't just find by open the map for the first time. The game has a huge exploration angle so too much look-ahead on that can really lessen the impact of the exploration.

Being vague usually helps avoid real spoiler issues, except for the absolute purists (which include me, when it's a film I really want to see). So, for example, mentioning that Sean Bean does a voice for one of the NPCs would be okay, but saying stuff about that NPC specifically wouldn't be.

I guess if you're in any doubt then use a spoiler tag.

it's like this - you find lots of daggers and swords and other magical melee weapons, but I've yet to find more than one enchanted bow. So when they toss atronachs at me, werll...

also, facing more than one opponent at a time can be quite tricky as a thief (and as a mage too, but at least you have area effects ;) )

Join the Blood Brothers do there quests and you get a nice magic bow which is Very Nice

Okay, this is spoiler free! If you disagree, PM me and I'll spoiler it up for ya :).

When doing the Ultimate Heist quest for the Thieves Guild don't forget a bow!

I spent a couple of hours hacking my through hordes of badies just to find out I needed one! Omg, I was sure something had dropped one, couldn't find it and had to spent 30 mins going back to town to buy one!

Incidentally, is there only one shop that sells bows in the Imperial City? Slash 'n' Smash had none, I had to go to the Fighting Chance and they only had Iron ones!

rofl, it didn't occur to you that you'd need a bow to fire an arrow? :p

About the Ultimate Heist, Gray Fox, and the loose ends:

Can't say the mission was much fun. Getting tired of ghosts and skeletons. I'd much prefer to be sneaking by the living... Of course, that was all made up for by stealing such an excellent part of history. There will be poems and songs ;)
Nifty how the door is added to the garden. A modest guildhall, no doubt, but it'll do.
As for the Gray Fox, I had assumed he was a vampire after reading the journal in the boots quest. I like the truth much better, though. I did manage to connect the dots when I saw The Stranger sitting on the bench just before I gave the countess the ring. Also, if you talk to him before the countess, he says "Shouldn't you be on your way already?" just like the Gray Fox did if you tried to talk to him after he gave you orders :)
For extra fun, toss on the hood and go for a run through town :D

Also, docbot, you can find some decent bows if you clear some bandit-inhabited dungeons.
Provided you are of high enough level, sure. At low level they'll all have iron bows :)

Basically the equipment the NPCs have levels with you, which means that daedric weaponry isn't special any more because every bandit has it.

Whether it's better than Guild Wars is a matter of opinion. It also depends on whether you like Guild Wars, and how much. I, personally, prefer Guild Wars and would rather play it any day (if I could connect ;)).. however I know BiG_D never really got into Guild Wars, and hardly played it, but loves Oblivion, so I'm sure he'd tell you the opposite.

Loll, well I thought it was supposed to just be a fancy key, BiG D! That's what they describe it as. It was 3 in the morning so maybe I wasn't concentrating so hard :p.

Just started the Dark B quests, they're as ace as the Thieves quests :D.

P.S. Omg, T-Bone! There is no way that needed spoiler tags :p.
