I'd definitely be interested (i even have it installed) but would like to be shown the ropes by you guys at some point so I actually know what the hell is going on... I tried one today where we had to land in the docks from an aircraft carrier... couldn't get down and just kept dying all the time :D

which just sucks ass as i had no clue where i was let alone where they were.

I find that one needs to radically change the way one plays.

Instead of the ol' run-fire-run, I find that I stop in cover, quickly scan my options for a next bit of cover, call for covering fire, then move to that cover. Much of my game is about moving right and actually much less about shooting. That sort of difference is crucial (and probably why Piacular tops the boards but I come out, often, with very few deaths and middle scores). That said, I play as SL most of the time, so I need to survive to provide my squad with a mobile spawn.

Not had chance to play with ya yet so if we get to squad up sometime soon I'll keep an eye out for you and see if I can provide a tip or two.

Absolutely. We're working on getting our next server up and, when we do, I'll look at getting our own PR server in play. With that, we can do some neato walk-rounds, practises, that sort of thing. It's a game that really benefits from knowing your way around and having a feel for how it plays. Honestly, I'm finding my experiences airsofting to be great help; you start to evaluate cover first and targets second.

We had a squad of 5 THNers today over at PTG. Pretty soon we'll be needing two SLs! (Piacular?!)

I'd probably be interested in playing some of this if I could drag myself away from WOW for a while :D.

I think the best way we've found so far is to go onto a server with low population <10, and introduce you that way. The game is actually a lot of fun with only 10 people on the large maps because the range you engage at can be so far :).

Ah, well isn't that interesting Mr Cower Behind Cover :), I find my deaths are usually the result of my SL's orders ;). Sending me off to clear out squads of baddies as a medic with only a sniper as cover! I mean, sure, I could do it in one life, but it's like the old adage says "There's never a medic around when you need one." :D.

Ya ya ya. I'm out there covering you as well!

That said, we really could do to have a look at optimal squad load-outs once people get more familiar with the kits. Never enough riflemen around to take point or provide the real fire support.

Hah now you know how it feels :D.

That said, as a squad we could do with more practise using cover. It's now not enough to merely crouch behind a wall; you need to keep your head behind one of those stone posts and fire out at an angle to really stay safe and useful. That worked a treat for me!

Hmm I find that some people are just a bit to conservative, and defensive when it comes to PR. Sure it's a much more strategic and defensive game than BF2, but I just think the games boring if everyone hangs back doing nothing, or if the SL orders the whole squad to sit and defend a point for 10 minutes when there's blatantly nothing happening. When this happens I just go off on my own and have some fun :). I'd much rather keep with the squad and fight with them, however I'm not going to play a style of game which I find to be boring :D.

In saying that, sometimes I just go off and get slaughtered, however I find even that a bit more exciting.

There's usually a need for a more active defence than flag-sitting. We had a decent example of that last night on Sunset City. Really, we were on the back foot for much of the game (especially cause of some weird thing where we couldn't find/see a PLA rally point they were certainly using) but my squad was trying to provide interference and enfilade fire to cover the repeated assault/defence on Lower City. It was pretty defensive but there was loads of opportunity for shooting. :)

Just flag sitting is probably a waste of a squad. I can put up with it for, say, five minutes but then feel like I need to move nearer to the action, even if only to get into extreme range to put some fire on enemy positions from their flank.

The more frustrating thing, I find, is on maps like Gulf of Oman where if you don't get an LZ secure inside the first couple of minutes you'll be spending much of the game hanging around on the carrier waiting for the next bird or boat to turn up... part of that is bad coordination.
