Reputation top-10 league table?

Just kicking ideas about, really...

Would people be interested in me publishing, when ever I feel like it, a top-10 league table for Reputation on this site?

I'd plan on not including the actual point values, but people would be in the correct order that I can easily discover from the Admin interface.

Just to be clear, it's just another little game people can opt to play. I don't see this is some essential "have to have" thing, but for those people putting effort into the Reputation Game, if you will, I'd like to reward them for their contributions and efforts. A top-10 scoreboard seems like a good way to do that.

So, it's cool not to want to join in or really pay attention to the results, but similarly cool if people are actually interested in seeing the scores.

I just dont see how the game can really work. you will only get rep if people like you and its something they like that youve posted. Becuase i doubt your gonan get rep for posting silly things . So i dont see how fair the games gonna be. Althought you can get people who then might just go out giving people bad rep so they can beat them. just my thoughts . I know myself ill never get in the top 10 anyways

SgtSafety how about giving things a try eh? It's all fine offering your opinion but it's just too negative. Rep is policed by the admins and any indecent reputation given to people can be removed or amended.
I say go for this idea. There's no harm in it whatsoever.

I think it could be a good idea as it might stimulate more thoughtfully prepared posts. (Not that I'm saying people don't think about what they post but ...... ) If people are more aware of the "rewards" for posting well, it could encourage more interesting posts.

By the way Safety, it's perfectly possible to get rep for posting silly things. It's given on whether someone likes your post, not on how serious you're being. For example, I got rep for this post. (Not trying to blow my own trumpet here , I just can't find any "silly" posts I've given rep for - my bad).

I personally won't be too worried if I don't hit the top ten list, but as long as it remains a friendly competition I think it could have merit. (At least there can't be any stat-padding like on BF2 )

Indeed. I remain watchful for Reputation abuse.

More focus on reputation would increase the risk of rep abuse, and reputation is also linked to how active you are on the forums, so i'm not sure if it's a good idea to highlight it further, but i'm all for an experiment to see how it's received.

As stated above the rep is carefully monitored by admins to make sure it's not abused. Any rep is checked to make sure there is a valid reason for it. Also, reputation is not linked to volume of activity on the forums, it's only rep power affected by this. For more info look here.
