Revive an old game for a night

We're taught by the marketing gremlins that newer is always better, and for the most part we blindly agree discarding old games simply because they are old and newer is better ...

Well its time to honor your old games for one night only with others who have a copy. The rules are simple, the game must be over 2 years old since it was released. If enough people also have copies we'll organise an event for it :)

For my tuppence worth I'm suggesting the following:

Tribes 2
Total Annihilation
Baldurs gate (1+2)
NeverWinter Nights 1

I was also going to suggest guild wars but its 2 years old next month so we'll wait on that one :)

Get those suggestions rolling in.

Well TA was funny when we were doing it a while back. Although it takes 1 night just to get everyone set up :D.

Unreal Tornament the first one? :D think I have that somewhere.
I also got the Baldurs gate set so now have BG1 + sword coast BG2 + throne of baal. Although we were meaning to get a NWN2 game going too.

The first UT (with a few mutators I can suggest ;)) is a good call, as is TA. Baldur's Gate was fun, but I don't feel like playing it again.

A 4 player System Shock 2 would be good! We tried setting up a game a while back, but timings were rubbish.

Sven Coop of the HL1 story is always a good laugh too, so I'd be up for that as well.

Others to be listed soon.

i'm good for a few old games ( my machine may even be able to play them :p)

TA and Red Alert i should have installed at the moment plus somewhere i have Tib Sun, i have the original UT however it seems to have a weird bug on newer machines where it runs really really fast :/. other things i have lying around include Deus Ex, TA kingdoms, AOE, AOE2, Freelancer, HL, Homeworld and Quake

looking forward to some classic gaming :)

I Installed a copy of UFO: Enemy Unknown the other day. Possibly the best game in the world :p.

It's not multiplayer but I just thought I'd bring it up to show that old games can still be the best.

Hmm I wouldn't mind a game of Total Annihlation if I can dig out the discs for it, and maybe even sven co-op aswell :).

I spent so much of my school years playing that game on my Amiga. That and a little known Sid Meier game called Colonization...

Looking at the Sven Coop page, I'm up for some Sven Coop-age of any type! Resident Evil Outbreak 1, and the such! :D

NeverWinter Nights was fun, but my version may no longer work as it apparently never came with a case.
Also as a note: i don't really stop playing my old games :p hell i still sometimes go back to play FF7 and i must've been around 8 when it was released :D oooh the wonders of addiction... my name says it all really doesn't it? it like tea! i must have it.

I agree with all the UT1 suggestions... definitely up for some of that :)

Other games I can think of would be battlefield 1942 (does anyone other than me still have that?), any C&C game (I have them up to Red Alert 2), any mod based on Half Life, Doom (using the doomsday engine, naturally :)), Quake 3 for random shooter stuff... ah the list goes on! :)

lost my 1942 discs unfortunately... I used to be a damned good sniper in that. Then for some reason in bf2 I switched to anti-tank, met up with Nanor, midgert and Fi$hy on a server randomly one day, joined their squad, played with them, i said about joining thier clan as they all had THN tags and the rest, as they say, is history...

Alice? ALICE? What the **** is Alice!?! :D Seriously though, what is it? It sounds like you're meaning if I have the thing already installed I can 'crack' it, which I dont :( I'll need to hunt for it
