Considering 8gb of DDR3 is 30 quid, I don't feel this to be true - or in the spirit of the thread.
Should I go 8Gb memory?

I thought that initially, but reading back to the original post I believe he's replacing 4GB of DDR2 with 8GB of DDR2...

Ah but that was his post back in 2012. Spicypixel inferred that Hotstuff had bought it this month.
EDIT: Hm, now I realise it was bought in December. Never mind me, it's not important

Honestly that last post made me laugh
Yes I know DDR3 memory is 1/3 the price of DDR2.
I am trying to hold out before upgrading my board with the hope of skipping a generation of memory.
DDR4 is due to come out in the next 12-24 months.

DDR4 is due to come out in the next 12-24 months.
We can pretend some DDR3 8GB + mobo weren't cheaper than the DDR2.
(I know you'd need a new CPU but there is a point there somewhere)
