Decursive and anything that make your display easier are great. But the mods Easyhealer and healbot's names speak for themselves. Imo if you cant heal properly theres no point doing it. But thats why there are differences in our opinions and many different mods availible, because some people like to do different things.

Anyways, you know my opinion on auto-heal mods, have fun healing mate! Do whats right for you! :)

Personally I use clique and grid, I simply cannot keep up with the raw volume of heals that are required to keep a raid up in demanding circumstances without these, maybe I suck but all the AM healers use the same mods.

It doesnt get boring, its bloody hard work even with the addons. My 2 cents.

Sustained 1150 HPS last night in sunwell ... don't ask why I was healer :P

Now, hear the opinions of the best healer on the server!!!! ¬_¬

Not wearing plate as a holy paladin is fine but there are several disadvantages.

1) All Cloth and Leather gear have Spirit on it. As a paladin Spirit shouldn't even be something you think about even if it is for the sole purpose of making sure you don't have any. Spirit doesnt give you any buffs and as a Paladin you have such a high mana pool and natural mana regen that you wont need it at all. Mail is normally fine except that mail healing gear tends to lack the fabled Spell Crit you will need as a holy paladin (FoL Bot).

2) Durability. As a paladin healer people expect you to be able to survive anything..but you only have the one bubble every 4 minutes. If a tank sees you being atatcked aswell as a DPS he will be mroe inclined to help the DPS out first and ofc if you cant take the hits, they will blame you :P

3) Cloth doesnt clank when you walk!

So for the three of these reasons combined always use plate when you can. Only downgrade armour class if there is ARMOUR boost in + healing on the lesser armour class.

I.E. Favor the new PvP healing stuff over cloth/leather PvE blues.

Also, on the subject of healing mods, do not rely on them. They will let you down. I have tried a couple and even in raids like Magtheridon's Lair, the Standard Raid UI is better. The only thing you should have is decurisve, everything else is worthless.

Apart from anything else if you hear/read a healer say "Sorry you died, my mod isn't working"...well, you get my drift.

I can heal without my mod, mainly because I forget to turn it on or switch it to raid/instance mode often, I just find it easier when under pressure in larger groups (10+) with multiple players gaining damages rather than just the tank. I understand why many people would have problems with mods and I understand people have different veiws on them. My philosophy stands as:

You should only use a mod if it actually helps in one way or another

For me with a crappy PC to play on it helps clear a lot of UI space from my screen so I can see what I am actually doing as well as help during high CPU lag.

I'd better give up healing then clearly, as I'm not doing it properly.

Razer, don't worry about it; healing between different classes works differently, and different people have different tastes. I don't like healing without Clique now 'cause it feels like I'm doing less, and makes me feel like I'm not doing my job, if you get my meaning. Those two mods are common ones that help reduce stress in raids, but some people prefer to be kept on their toes (like Baldi and myself)

Also, as said before, the healadin's most mana efficient spell, and their trademark so to speak, is their Flash of Light. For a resto shammy like yourself, Razer, 90% of your heals will be coming from Chain Heal, as its by far the most mana efficient shaman heal. When you have a heal thats going to be used on multiple targets (like CH) or a quick spam heal (like FoL) you do need some better form of UI for quick targetting and multiple target viewing.
Those classes with the bigger heals (like priests) are more about main tank healing than the raid healing the shammys and pallys do, so having an over-complex UI really does do nothing for them.
Like Lith said, different classes do it differently, if they didnt, the game would be rather boring tbh :p
