There's then also the spec system, one example being Sith force users being able to spec into single or dual saber styles, with appropriate bonuses later on.

But bear in mind, Jedi (republic) can't (shouldn't) be able to use sith powers. If they make force lightning / force choke etc, I won't be too impressed.

Why not? I mean force powers do have light side/dark side divide (healing/lightning for example) but most of the powers that push, stun, hurt an enemy are fairly neutral.

Force Lighting is a Sith Attack, as is Force Choke (General powers supposed to kill.)

Force Push, Force Lift, Force "Stun" (Force powers generally not ment to hurt, but at the same time, do hurt, but in a non-killing-manner) etc, are neautral.

Jedi's have no real abilites to -just- them (Minus MAYBE heals..But with Jedi's being a healer class, i can see heals going to Sith too.)

Exactly, and if heals aren't restricted, why should things like choke and lightning?
Just utilize a mechanic ala Jedi Academy where your powers effectiveness is determined by your light/dark side rating. Or maybe have some influence hits if you use the opposed factions powers too often.

To quote Kyle Katarn (Dark Forces series): No Force power is inherently good or evil, it's how you use them

Also, note in Star Wars Ep6 - Luke Skywalker chokes 2 gamoreans for being in his way... how jedi like is that, hmm? :P

Exactly, and considering that this is back in an age when everyone, both light and dark side, is much more kickass than in the films, i'd expect a lot more universal options.

And he doesn't choke them. He just mind tricks them.

Sith and Jedi are just names. Intention is what counts. If you used lightning to charge a power pack to power a food processor for starving ewoks, how bad would that be?

There is no black or white, only shades of grey.

what is this this episode 3 yea speak of?

This is the correct answer. There were vicious rumours someone might make some crap prequels, with terrible acting and plots, and loads of cartoony over the top special effects which wouldn't really fit in with the established canon. Luckily these rumours were unsubstantiated.

Episode 3 = Return of the Jedi. The "new" films don't count as star wars films to the true fans. :(

Some good characters/actors in there though, with some nice expansion to the universe, but largely let down by the as you say over the top cartoony effects and bad plots.

That said, how does everyone feel about Force Unleashed with regards to canon?
Personally i rate it more cannon than most of the classic books :P

Then sir, you are wrong.

Please defend yourself by referring to which books you actually mean.

Otherwise. A duel. Either lightsabers or blasters at dawn.

Yus, Episode 6: Return of the Jedi, aka the 3rd and final film of the SW Trilogy. The prequels are fan-made bollocks that I refuse to acknowledge.

And no, he actually did choke them, read the SW books, holmes. Also, even killing with the force can be considered gray, as a Jedi Knight can still kill if the intent of defense is there (not self defense, just defense in general).

Yus, Episode THREE: Return of the Jedi, aka the 3rd and final film of the SW Trilogy.

It's Episode Three! The Badly Made Episodes "1, 2 and 3" are barely worthy of the SW title.

Gombol, the first three were all 'digitally remastered'

Thus "Han shot first!"

And Episode 6. Or... maybe... Episode3.1

The Originals were yes. But they didn't change anything. Just the colour / sound / etc. The new...."Things." are horrible though.
