Time for a thread about our Kara progress:

On Friday 21st July, we made our first ever attempt, and we successfully downed Attumen on the second try after a mildly bumpy start with the adds leading up to him. We lacked the second priest with which to shackle Moroes' adds, so we skipped ahead to the Maiden, made three attempts on her and got her down to 49% before the adds leading up to her respawned. At that point we had a slight group shuffling and gained a second priest and decided to try Moroes. We made three attempts on him, and managed to get him to around half-health (if anyone has a percentage health left, shout it out).

Attumen dropped the Gauntlets of Renewed Hope and the Vambraces of Courage

For a first attempt I feel we did really well and would like to thank everyone who participated in our first try and made it possible. I cannot say when we will be able to make a second attempt, but I hope we can build on our success and venture deeper into the instance!

I'd love to go for the Maiden, if at all possible. Moroes is a royal pain in the arse and has a noticeable grudge towards priests - I had never seen such obsessive clergy rage in an NPC before! :P

Jokes aside, I tried a little late night trick after I got back home, which is quite useful as an extra boost, especially in caster-heavy groups like ours. Mages can spellsteal my fel armor, increasing their spell damage by 100 and boosting healing received, so all we have to do is, basically, to have the mages dueling Sajo or I (or any available warlock) prior to buff distribution. :)

Zeej and Zaggu are both welcome along, we still have the room in the raid; it's pretty much just the healing we need, and if Salboar can attend, that'll be sorted as well!

And this Spellsteal idea intrigues me...

It was a wacky idea I had to buff a mage buddy who was desperately trying to improve his grinding speed. Since spellsteal doesn't target a specific spell, I dueled him with no other buffs on and voilá! - Instant Fel Armor on mage.

On the 23rd, we made a couple of unsuccessful attempts at the Maiden before moving on to the Opera Event. After an attempt at Woogley-sacrifice, we discovered the event to be the Big Bad Wolf, and made a few failed attempts, but had a lot of fun with it ^^

On the 24th, we managed to take down the Big Bad Wolf after just one failed attempt! The Big Bad Wolf's Head and the Beastmaw Pauldrons dropped (the Head was DE'd). Also, the Grips of Deftness dropped, but were also DE'd.

We made two attempts on the Curator, and on the second attempt we managed to get his health down to 79%.

Well, first raid session over, three bosses down, eight epics dropped, and many people at Violet Eye Honoured reputation; I am genuinely proud of all those that have helped us achieve so much on our first try, and can only hope that we will continue to do well as the weeks progress!

Well, hopefully we'll resume when the weekend rolls aroud; I would like people to use the time between now and the next raid to try improving their gear and raising the money or materials to help with the production of potions and elixirs. Also, if you can grab stuff to help with Arcane Resist, that would help a lot.

Great, great fun! Off to get a decent set of pants with more tha laughable crit on them and AR stuff - that prick shall pay! ;)

The respawns at the end were rather shocking, I must admit... especially since I was stood on the exact spot where the first group respawned, and was on the floor before I knew what was going on 0.o

Hi guys, not sure you know or want this info, but, i'll tell you any way lol. I was speaking to a friend of mine regarding our go at the curator on the 23rd. He informed that when he was on the curator, they had 1 lock off tank the curatot, making sure he's 2nd on aggro list, with his fel hunter out. They had another lock takin adds with the imp out. When all the sparks where down they nuked boss. They had a dedicated healer on lock and main tank, and the remainin grp took the sparks. Not sure if u like this tic tac but there uyou have it :eek:

Well I want at least one lock there for the Curator fight, and having one in general is great for DPS, healthstones, imp... it goes on and on ^^

I would just like to add that locks rule and are imba. That is all :D

Myself and Haven owned AV for an hour last night... top of the damage done charts by a long way :D
