Nintendo have officially stated they will be making a handheld console to be released at the same time as the Wii. It has been called the Puu.

According the Microsoft Sam, "Wii" is not pronounced "wee" but "wee-ay"

Sounds like the Wii made a big impact at E3. And by big, I mean a record setting, 'hey sony & microsoft, maybe you better just stick to cameras & operating systems' sort of impact.
Quite a few stories about it all over the internet, but this one is concise and explains basically everything without a full hands-on report.
