In that case you must hold on Raz :) Only bob can see people's donation history via subscriptions, where as Ronin is in charge of the userbars... Just have to wait until they get into some form of synchronicity :D

Since they are in different polar orbits... this does take a few moments :D

We are working on instantaneous synchronicity, but that would mean bob living at Ronins house and maybe even sitting on his lap :D.

A note to anyone that thinks they should have a banner they don't etc.

Please PM me, I have to check paypal logs and compare those to the sub log that the forum reports. That in itself isn't too tricky. However one off donations don't appear in the sub log so I just have the paypal report which gives me an email address and a real name.


On another more related to this thread note, I personally love the banners. Especially my shiny bloodbowl one :D.

I dont think the banners are a bad thing. With the crowd we have assembled i doubt this is going to turn into some sort of banner contest ala 'i'm right because i have more bars.' 'i have more bars look how much better than you i am.'

Also they are a good reminder that people can support and enter tourneys. I see it more like an advertisement that its possible than a blue ribbon.

Can we choose to hide them (the donation related bars) completely, so that we can donate, and only bob/ronin know what we have done even if we are entitled to "bars", i would hate to be treated differently because i had donated.

I have never worked so all my money is from liek scrounging, though i do do community volunteer work in my local town. - See knowning that would you treat me differently now because i am poor? :P

It will never be a case of only bob/ronin knowing, the whole admin team is in on this ;P

Also, as have been said, just drop us a line if you'd like your bars removed and we'll sort it.

As an aside, the only way someone is being treated differently is that they're getting a bar. At least as far as I've noticed.

I ponder if it would be possible to change it so that you can display user bars, much like you pick your colour for the forum, that way if you don't want someone to see it, you just don't select it.

i.e. I am Dark Green for the purposes of -HNW- Director (EVE stuff), Game Server Admin, or as a Contributor to THN.

I can select normal Green as a Regular THNer, or I can now select the Blue colour for having donated.

I wonder if the system could be extended slightly to allow you to display the user bars you want, that you have access to, with a tiered system in place for determining what colour you end up being because of these?
I hope that makes some sort of sense!

Oh, sorry, dont missunderstand me i wasnt jumping on the "treated differently" band wagon, it was a simple if misphrased question.

Ah, many apologies. I was processing around 33 people and made a couple of cut and paste errors when doing Patrons/Supporters. I'll fix that later this evening.

And to echo the sentiment above, THANK YOU - to RS, Haven, Bob and all the THN admins, mods, event organisers - for all the time and effort you put into making THN the fantastic place that it is.

Except thatbloke, who sucks donkey balls, obviously. Now, where did I put that trout? :D
