THN meet 2007 Belfast

As some of you may know, we try to run a annual gathering of people from the site who want to meet up and have some fun and basicaly have a mini break.

Last years was a awsome time and you can see the pics on the gallery! (if u dare)

As the haven mister genral is currently residing in Belfast with Shadow and Duren, It has been suggested that we meet them there this year.

This is a summer event so as a rough mark, The first weekend in august is a date to work from. I know its a bit early to be planning it in detail but as seen from last year, People who need to fly have to book their tickets pretty early to make it financialy viable being in the summer hol's and all.

So basical tell us your thoughts and ideas and if your thinking of comming and the like and we shall see what we come up with

And the same as last year, You have to be over 18 as you will be looking after yourself and its a holiday not a event. Sorry for those who can't come, we did get flack for it last year, but in the long run it is for the best.

How are ppl getting there, also cheap flights, anyone got any ideas. STAtravel just quoted me somewhere in the £85 as the cheapest. Also Ireland rocks.

Flight will be $1100 minimum for me, it looks like. But this year... I can afford that. We'll see.

I'll put in a genuine effort to make it this year, but since I couldn't even make it to one in my own country, who knows? Ireland is a much better destination this year than last now that the IRA and the UDA and all that are bum buddies, there's less chance we'll get bombed.

I'll probably try and get the ferry from Stranraer rather than take the plane, partly because it's much more comfortable, partly because it (seems) safer, partly because we could get another veeee-hicle across and mostly because I love the sea.

The SeaCat might be worth a blast, but it's passenger only, and it might cost a lot.

I think they mean that they can't stay with them, there's nothing wrong with popping up when I'd be in Belfast anyway. If it's a lot of bother, I don't mind.

The trouble is responsibility for children. That sounds so utterly patronising and really isn't meant to be in the slightest. We, the THN administration, can and will take utterly no responsibility for anyone. Including ourselves. Especially ourselves. Just ask Haven.

But seriously, if it's a case of popping by to say hi and hang about then I don't see the problem with it. If it's a case of hanging out and getting smashed overnight then I see more of a problem with that, from a responsibility point of view.

I'd trust Nanor to figure himself out but, in a sense, it's nothing to do with the people themselves and everything to do with liability to the organisers. If the (self-)designated organisers have a problem with that liability then I guess that speaks for itself. It'd concern me, I think, at least a little.

Hence the over-18 request. It just keeps things simple.

If you will, there is no event, there are no organisers, it's just some THN people figuring they'd like some time in Belfast and meeting up with other like-minded friends. Fall down and break your leg? While drunk? Bad luck and a shame but, ultimately, your fall and your problem. Not the organiser's. Not THN's. Most assuredly not mine.

(That said, I'm sure we'd help you get to hospital and not just laugh at you on the floor!)

I'd love to go (especially just to see BiG_D and Nanor! No offence to the the rest of you, I just hate your guts ), but I'll be trying to get a job, and trying to get somewhere to live as the girlfriend and I are graduating this year!
