Trackmania!

Bonjour old bean, for a good old ding dong time have you tried Trackmania? It's a top class racing game, which I'm not terribly good at, and it won't cost you a penny!

Now if you've already got it, jolly good, but slap your name down so we know you're a player. With enough chaps we can have some top tiara race-offs!

You can grab a free copy of the spiffing game here.

I go by the name of Whiztacular! in the land of Trackmania, and I believe Bob floats about in it too, outshining the masses.

Rather!

OOOOOOOO good call Pia, now who suggested you play this one. hmmmm who knows ey???
Yes it rocks, the time attack internet mode is good for chilling. I tend to play while watching films in the background.
I tend to lurk on the Smurfs of War time attack server, as they have the most fun tracks.
Starting out its worth having a bash at the simple generic Nadeo tracks, but these get kinda dull pretty fast. To step it up you can eith just go and play online and due to the tiny nature of the track files you can just play. Or you can dl'd track files and have fun offline.

200 track pack, a lot of fun and only 1.7M
Basically all you need to do is go into the trackmania map file out of game and dump the map files in the map file bit.
then its fun fun fun time. lots of wall rides booster maps loop the loops.

And for a complete n00b, where would that be exactly?

Can't help you there... :/

I wouldn't worry too much about it, maps download instantly in online play, so you'd really only want those if you're playing single player. And why would you do that? :p

So that you can actually finish a map once before you're thrown into a completely different one ofcourse!

hahahaha fair play took me a while to find it, as Big D says it doesn't matter online.

C:\Program Files\TrackMania Nations ESWC\GameData\Tracks\Challenges\Nadeo\Nations\Pro

I threw all mine in there

With me when the little startbox thing came up there's an update button, that copys a web URL to somewhere, then that takes you to the download. All very over-complicated :D.

Whenever I run the game I get a window with some options for the game before it goes full screen, and one of the options is update.

Probably doesn't help as that would be obvious if the screen did show up for you :)

Hmmmm dunno i've never updated since i got it in november, as all data is tres small, map detail etc. you just nab it off the servers as you go along. hehehe
I now wish I'd thought of going and finding that download for everyone earlier.

Anyway woot that ppl are playing it, now go get more ppl its great fun. one of the maps in that map pack is called somet like wall-ride, it be my personal favourite for obvious reasons.

I'm currently trying to work out how to setup a server so it works, however i am lame at this sort of thing so who knows if it does work. It should be pretty simple as the game is. Not great with the whole port forwarding rubbish. HMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm may just stick avec smurfs of war as they just changed their map rotation

Yeah I was just on smurfs of war. Pretty good maps, but i'm rubbish at the moment :( Still love the game though, it's a right laugh!

Woot, finished all the Beginner tracks with a gold or better, except evil C-9, grr!

Must be a way for us to link to our times for easy competition :D.

In the mean time, may I introduce you to my most hideous creation: the Blobby Mobile.

She's a real beauty :D.
