Ahh first game I remember playing was Fury of the furries.

What a great game, I tried to download it again a while ago but it runs in uber slow motion :S.

Then it was something like UFO: Enemy Unkown. That was also a great game, still fun to play :D.

I think my first game was Pole Position on the Atari 2600. If not, PacMan. They were both a very very long time ago, tho. I remember having a system that had pong-style games on it with a sports theme, but that thing was ancient, cant mind the name of that thing now. The first game I really got into (and still one of my favourite ever games) was Super Mario Bros. 3 on the NES.

8088? That's like, so 70's man! Ancient technology even then ;)! And to think I was all set to moan about the joys of DOS 4.0 on a 386... :p

I lost my gaming virginity on 17th of June, 1991 to Sonic the Hedgehog(original) on the Megadrive, though most of the games you guys first played, I experienced a few years later on the macintosh down at my primary school (a demo disk of games including such numbers as prince of persia and full throttle - of course back then, you needed to put the disk into a caddy :P lol)

They still had those machines when I left in 2000. Seriously.

And yes, we played Full Throttle every rainy lunchtime. Ah, good times :D.

(Also, I sneakily copied the Dark Forces demo from the CD to the HD without anyone knowing, until the mac actually ran out of space (the demo was just under 30Mb, and the HD only had about 35MB free... 'twas not a happy machine!)

I think it was TIM on the mac, that was at dads office, then it was a whole host of shizzle on my sexual amiga 500, which has sadly passed away http://games.thehavennet.org.uk/images/smilies/frown.gif
:(

Past favourites were:-
Chaos Engine
Soccer Kid
North & South
Battle Isle
Moonstone <---- scarily gorey

OMFG those top 3 in your favourites list were some of my favourites on the Amiga too!!! But my most favourite game ever on the Amiga has to be a toss up between Wing Commander and a little-known Sid Meier game called Colonization...

Oh my god! Just been looking up the list and I saw Soccer Kid in your favourite games Giz! Soccer Kid was one of the first games I remember playing, along with some other ones for the Amiga like Lemmings 2 - and it was sexcellent. Shame that the 1mb of Ram needed to play it frazzled itself...

I should really have posted this up years ago, but hey:
if any of you are looking for your old console or handheld games, theres a good chance youll find the 8 and 16-bit generation games on http://emu-russia.km.ru
Great site - just grab and emulator and the game rom - according to the law your apparently allowed to keep them on your computer if youve owned the originals as it constitutes a software liscense :P

Alas, I can't remember. Some very early computer games on machines like Amigas I don't even remember the games, likewise for stuff on BBC computers. We're talking when I was 4-6 years old here.

My first game was on an old amstrad tape driven thing, and involved flying a plane accross a map. I can't remember what it was called, but i do remember it being amazing fun, so long as you give it 20minutes to load up first ;S

Aye Fury those would have been the frist two game that I ever played.

I loved Chuckie Egg and I always wanted to be better at Elite but it was my dads game and I wasn't really old enough to understand it. I used to get in fights with the policeand pirates really early. Plus I'd always crash into to the space stations. There was a third space game but i can never remember it. I also remember trying to code a game on the BBC aswell (if only I'd stuck with it).

Also my uncle had a game and watch that envloved jumping from trees that was good fun too.

That's really quite early on.
