What's your speaker set-up?

Speakers can be annoying for other people when you are on teamspeak I find.
If you've got two soundcards, it's worth running TS through the second (as Traxta mentioned.) In my case, I have earbuds hooked to that card, and just use the left ear. Not only does it prevent other people hearing the crazy internet folks, but it makes it a lot easier to hear teamspeak over music or game sounds.

Maybe you shouldn't press the push to talk button all the time and if you lower the sensitivity (I hope thats the correct term) and put it directly in front of you mouth it might also help a bit ... but tbh I prefer not listening to music while talking on Teamspeak as I concentrate far to much on listening to the songs than to my teammates ;)

Yeah I only use my headphones when i'm in teamspeak. Although I could use them all the time, I suspect that they are 5.1 also. They sound like it anyway. They are Vivanco SR 300's. Anyone heard of them?

dragon I do all those things but I think people allways blame me coz its me! In fairness I did used to do it when I had my speakers and people would get so anoyed with me they would move me to other rooms so I blame it on my reputation

If its not stupidity its the reputation that arises from it ... or just the old proverb, "girls and tech"
nah just kidding ... (Yeah I know I'm pretty mean today ... got some problems with my ex GF sorry) tbh if you want me to I can test the TS settings with you, as I have never been on teamspeak with you before (well except for that one time when I told you that you sound exactly like my cousin ... ;) ) and therefore I think that I can be rather objective :)

Probably. I use push to talk, so it isn't a huge deal if it does. In any case, no one has ever complained about it...

I have Teamspeak running via my headphones, and all other sounds running through the speakers, games, music, movies etc,

my Mic is on Voice Activation ( purely because for some reason my TS windows has be be the 'active window' on vista or the button i assign to 'push to talk' does nothing :/ )

but the only 'complaints' i receive are breathing, or singing and forgeting the mic is on...

The other facter Birdy, is how close / far your mic is from your mouth, and how responsive it is, can you per say set the voice activation and have the mic comfortable above your nose ? not hear anything other than when you speak ?

also, im sitting about 60CM away from my 3 desk satelite speakers, and the subs under the desk, i can quite happily have my music blasting out as loud as i like without any pick up from my mic, How close are you to your speakers ?
