X-Boxing it up

...to update you all, I got the Xbox, had to buy more cables to connect it to my monitor's VGA worth 15$, and everything I see on screen is green. There is SOME blue and red, but everything is heavily green-tinged. I rechecked the cables several times over, everything is as well plugged in as can be. According to google-fu, this means video processor troubles, only repairable by exchanging the console. But of course, mine being an affordable second hand, has no warranty left on it.

So yeah, unless some miracle happens, I just blew 110 pounds on an all-greens Xbox. Yay.

Might possibly be the cable's fault. I may well be connected, but if it's damaged then it won't give the right picture.
It's not. In suspecting this, I got a brand new one from the store. There ARE blue and red signals, but the green tint just overpowers everything.

Well, that sucks. Any chance of taking the clearly not working properly console back to the person who sold it to you? Sounds like you've been stiffed.

I contacted the person who sold it to me and will hopefully either ship it back to him and get the money back, or failing that I will contact the server in trying to figure out if there's a buyer's warranty of sort.

Turns out it's just the RGB cinches that are fubar. The S-video cinch works fine when converted to SCART and plugged into a friend's TV. So I now have to get an S-video->VGA conversion thingy. Or get a TV. And try and get a refund for the cables I got.
