XP Home vs. ME vs. Pro

So, whats the best option? XP Home and Media Center versions are both available to me for the same price, but is it worth paying extra and going for Pro? Someone help me please!

Pro is professional. Ie, business', or people who like more. Most noteable differences that you will see (as a gamer more then anything) is increased VPN support. Well, thats all I have ever seen in a large anyway...

Never touched Media Centre.

Clicky on the differences between Home and Pro. Still not sure if you would see the difference though... I'm using Pro as its free and legal for me! Yay for university!

XP Pro is mainly for professionals in business, etc. as it contains alot more support for various networking and administration options that a standard home user would not require. So stick with XP home. It will do everything you need it to. As for the Home vs. media centre debate, I am unable to offer any input there as I haven't used it... and I don't know what it has that XP home doesn't...

No, really. If you plan on doing any sort of networking at all, you need pro. Home is missing tons and tons of small things that really add up.

Not for the faint hearted, but you can turn Home into Pro. Apart from that, What D said.
