Blood Bowl - Crunch Cup Signups

Crunch Cup X is starting up over on bbtactics, if anyone is interested. This time round we have Fatshark as the sponsor, so the top 4 teams will get a free copy of their game, Krater.

We also have a weekly courier which covers the cup and has plenty of its own stories set in a BB/Warhammer world.

The format is 4 divisions of 10 teams each, with the top 4 from each division going to the playoffs. We already have 40 players and 2 reserves, but if we can get 6 more coaches then the league will be expanded to 12 teams per division. If not, then you get placed on the reserves list in case anyone drops out.

Rookie teams, previous CC teams and teams that have played a maximum of 6 matches in the Crunch Them All open league are admitted.

Here's the link to signups http://bbtactics.com/forums/underwo...stries-crunch-cup-x-sponsored-fatshark-t1950/

And here's the link to last season's courier http://bbtactics.com/forums/crunch-cup-courier-48-a-t1927/

Its Legendary Edition, so the 3 new teams aren't included. It currently looks like approximately 2 divisions will have rookie teams or just above (1,000 to 1,150 or so), 1 division will have tv around 1,400 to 1,500 mark and the highest division will have tv around 1,800 or so (although there is 1 elf team with tv of 2,150).

And yeah, the Crunch Cup has really grown. 40 players this time around and the possibility to make it 48. I feel the great community and the Crunch Cup Courier have a lot to do with its popularity.

Would be great to have you back if your interested Panda (and can tear yourself away from European Escalation).

Three teams more are needed due to people having been forced to drop out between signing up and playing (real life's a bitch) - so if you think you can play there's still an opportunity.

With prizes :D

LOL. It is pretty accurate for a lot of people in Japan. And actually my wife does handle the budget/bills/etc. Luckily for me she isn't so stingy, so i get enough money for my weekly beer and nuts :D

Good to have you on board for the CC Panda. Don't be shy about volunteering for the courier. We need all the help we can get!

Having not played any BB in about a year, I need some practice really.

I have a rep as slightly competent to uphold!

I'm free this weekend and Monday if you want a match or 2. Just submit a few teams to the Crunch Them All matchmaking league and we can be right to go.

Also, you are allowed to have 2 matches with your old CC team and still be eligible to enter them into CCX. So keep that in mind if you want some more spp for your fancy pants.

I might be able to take you up early on saturday/late on sunday (GMT), and that would be nice.

Im gmt+9, so early Saturday your time is probably better for me than late on Sunday. Shoot me a pm on bbtactics and look out for me on Steam (although i only sometimes have steam open).

Just checked the divisions and it looks like we are going to be facing each other! Your teams tv is the 2nd lowest - with only Gallows Bait and his joke Skaven team lower than you. Its going to be a tough one for you, but inducements can do great things!

It was always going to be tough, I haven't played in about a year. If I finish in the middle third of the div I'd be pleasantly surprised.

I'll look for you early saturday mate, but if I can't find you, well, I'm going in rusty.

One thing I could definitely use is a BB manager tutorial.

Yeah, bbmanager is a pain to use originally. The interface is pretty terrible and it is slow as hell. I've used it for so long now though that its no problem.

If you really struggle with it, you could just get your opponent to always upload the match instead.

Excerpt from the latest Crunch Cup Courier:
"The return of Those Fancy Pants, whose last outing in the competition was way back in Crunch Cup III is a pleasant surprise to fans of pink-trousered Human play everywhere. Given the fact their coach Panda With Issues hasn’t played BB in a year, and that they are TV underdogs in this division, the Pants certainly qualify as underdogs, but this is a team with a track record of causing upsets. There’s a nice spread of skills throughout the team, but Thrower Polyester Pete in particular has an arm like a rocket and can throw the long bomb, although it’s not always very accurate. 15/1 AGAINST."

And Panda actually won his first match! :) But i lost mine :(

Awesome. There's now 4 players with guard on the team, so they won't be pushed around easily. They didn't exactly put the hurt on the skaven though... perhaps they thought it was a warm up match.

Having had a quick look at some of the other teams in this division, I can't say I fancy my chances. There's clearly a gulf between the highly developed teams and those which aren't, and even a lot of those are covered in statups and double rolls.

There's a lot of level 4, 5 and 6 players kicking about, and probably too much agility for my poor humans to handle.

Its a pretty good mix of races, but there sure are some super players there and the tv gap can be wide. But 4 Guard will do a lot to help your cause. Just make sure you don't pick up any tackle until after you've played my Wood Elves! :p
