I hope not but... it's EA ... They've made the BF franchise head down into the Bad Company route and I don't like it compared to previous :(

I am completely afraid it will be the BF:BC2 route, rather than the BF2 route. Still some good things like proning and 64 player servers. Some bad things (unless you like flying like I do), like planes are back. I am interested, but I feel it will be more like BC2 than BF2, just because.

I don't think it's bad, I just didn't enjoy it as much as BF2. I won't go into the reasons why, as it will just get into a "U SUCK!", "NO, U SUCK!" match.

They don't mention the fact they are cancelling other games because of it do they. Bad Company: Onslaught and Battlefield 1943 are both cancelled.

Everybody is canceling games today! DICE is canceling two games. Can you guess what franchise the games were part of? Can you guess what franchise DICE will be working on instead? If you said "Battlefield", then you're correct. Battlefield 1943 and Bad Company 2: Onslaught have both been canceled for the PC. Money for those projects is now being put towards Battlefield 3, which DICE claims will be "the best Battlefield game ever". This does not bode well for any Battlefield title that they will develop after Battlefield 3.

By the way, the best Battlefield game ever was the demo on the PC for the original Battlefield, Battlefield 1942. Actually trying to win was for chumps, so everybody always went crazy team killing people. Wake Island never so much as was conquered as one side was better at team killing than the other (and probably had more lunatics) and won by losing first. I remember running over a lot of people in a jeep and placing those anti-tank mines on the aircraft deck. Crashing the aircraft carrier into the island was a lot of fun too.

Any particular reason the guy in the picture is apparently being burned by yellow light? Are the soldiers vampiers now? Is that your plan EA?

Isn't that the yellow glow of awesome, with the smoke of ultra-awesome curling off it?

No? :p

Well, first battlefield 3 - BFBC2 comparison says:

Yes, in fact, they hired the same crappy art directors.
