Hey lucius,

Looks like we'll be seeing each other on the field a bit earlier than I anticipated. Now, I'd like to see some clean, tactical play and none of this bashing the crap out of each other stuff. Deaths are right out. As is tickling. Just polite blocking and some good footwork. Ya hear?

Oh what am I saying? Perhaps that should have said:

Yippee ki yay! :D

Not sure what your work situation does at the moment but I'm generally better for games later in the evening (post 22:00). Monday and Friday are bad days, and I can't play next Saturday, but otherwise I can be fairly flexible with good notice.

2 - 0 to panda, well played.

Went 3 players down in as many turns and then had to sit there and watch while he caged his way to the slowest 2 goals I've ever witnessed.

I know it's how you win/play properly etc. but it was the most boring hour I've spent in a good while and I don't wish to revisit it so I'm out already.
Don't want to ruin it for anyone but unfortunately I'd rather not have to sit through that again.

I'd rather lose 6-0 or have my team abolished by a bashy side than sit there at the scrim watching the ball caged by 5 players going nowhere and still not have anything to do against it because I am too many players short already.

Probably shouldn't have gone skaven, but I usually enjoy the hectic way they have to play.

In no way a reflection on panda, just the way he plays btw.
Sorry folks. Good luck and enjoy the free points.

Indeed it is, the points aren't that important. What is more of an issue is that all planned opponents miss out on SP point and level ups which are what can really make the difference. I would seriously suggest grabbing a skaven pub team and have a play with how to break cages. It is doable if done correctly. As you say they are slow, which can give you time to do something about it.

As a Bears fan Defence is all Panda knows (grumbles about how easily they walked over the Eagles O line :( ). I really ask you to reconsider, if you are completely set on not playing would you be willing to give someone else your BB login details so we can try and find a replacement player.

So...

Didn't quite expect a week 1 drop out. Leaves us with three options from here:

  1. Null Panda vs Aggamemnon and give everyone a bye week with a 2:0 victory when playing his team.
  2. Drop the league, get a replacement player, re-sign all teams and restart the league.
  3. Attempt some thrilling heroics with Cyanide's league management system.

We don't much like either of the first two options, especially not the second one.

But, on the third, it looks like it is possible to drop existing teams from the league, for new teams to apply to join the league, and for us to mess around with the fixtures for a week as long as no games have been played that week. Thing is, we don't know that any of this is actually going to work and we can't easily test it ourselves as we three organisers already have teams in the league.

To test this, we need someone with LE who isn't currently in the league to register a team in the league. If that works, we may be cooking with option 3, which is our preferred plan (and will help us handle future league drop outs).

However, don't want someone to pay £20 for a game on the off chance it works unless they were already going to buy it.

Thoughts?

Need to solve this one quickly to let people get on with playing their matches.

I was planning on getting it after xmas for money reasons but i can get it before to test this 3rd options cos even if it doesn't work im still gonna play the game against Huung and see if i can beat the great Bob!

It definitely is bad form on one hand.
On the other watching a player move the ball 2 spaces a turn is not fun.
Since he won 2 - 0 there isn't a massive deal me forfeiting the rest of the lineup in the consecutive weeks.

If I had played x number of players before Panda, then yeah I probably could of broken a cage.
As it stands I went 3 down, and he had total pitch control, he still only moved it up in a cage. Which meant the whole game was spent with half my team off the pitch, the other half on the floor sat watching him do not much.

It's not a good outcome because it affects the other teams, but again, if it's not fun why would I do it again?

I've also played with a rats team on MM games with mixed success. The point isn't losing, it's spending an hour watching a 2 rating game.

You can gift the game if you own DE, at the discounted price btw.
