Vela and myself had a great game, and he won 2-1.

I got a taste of my own medicine, as he put out 3 of 4 of my AG 3 players in the first half which ended 1-1, and most of them refused to get up.

Consequently, I just didn't have enough on the board to get the ball down the field when I received the ball in the second half, and he played well, took the ball from me, and eventually scored.

well I suppose I should now mention the result of my game against comrade phil - 3-1 to myself :)

The comrade, being rather new to all of this, showed his inexperience at points and I was able to capitalise on his early mistakes to take a 2-0 lead into half time. I probably could have made it 3-0 at half time had I not made a mistake myself and left one of his players unmarked, allowing him to nobble my ball carrier.

In the second half, I continued where I left off in the first, quickly securing a 3rd TD after an awesome bomb launch from my bombardier knocked 3 of his players to the ground, allowing me to weaken his line and scoot right on through, making full use of my pogoer's leap ability to jump his rear players :)

Then, he manages to get a little bit of luck on his side, and with a small run of the dice and 3 failed pickup attempts (where each one only needed 3+) he managed to get a skink down the wing, nab the ball from my stupid gobbos and nab a TD with 3 turns left.

Then, feeling a little worried, he *almost* scored again very quickly, but a lucky pickup and I managed to get the ball to safety and just keep the ball for the last 2 turns, while trying (unsuccessfuly, due to stupid trolls) to inflict some damage on phil's team.

For a novice, well played and your team will only get stronger as you play more :)

Oh man, 3-0 loss to a rather punchy Lizardman team. Well played, Lucius.

A strong, tight game with no real holes that I could exploit. Put two Skinks down and almost had a run at the endzone twice but little other progress.

My main achievement was no casualties and no deaths to the Heroes, which is what I was really hoping for (alongside only a 2-1 loss or a 1-1 draw...). Just you wait... the Heroes will be kicking ass in only three or four weeks! :)

[edit]Oh, and...[/edit]

Please would one of the other league admins process my game for me? I don't think it's appropriate for me to authorise my own games... (hmm, but Ghostwolf always has to do that too...)

I think at least 2 touchdowns were due mostly to some very good luck in extreme skink dodging, but was a great first game to the series, thanks Ronin

There was a quiet around the stadium in anticipation for the match that was about to start. A slight dew on the grass and a chill in the air that would suit a hard hitting running game. The quiet I speak of was several hours before any of the dwarf player or fans had woken up of course. A pre-season preparation drinking session between the now retired bobrek's b4st4rds and the fresh faced bast4rds resulted in something of a late night.

A reporter announced on the morning of the game that:

The Ass. Coach of the Elf team had complained to match officials and to the police that the dwarves were making too much noise and that this was disturbing the peace and serenity of the elves. Now retired Blitzer Ekraz whose son is in the new line up was sent to reach a diplomatic solution.

On a side note the fact that the aforementioned assistant coach was found with his head in a wheel of cheese with the words would you like some cheese with your whine roughly tattooed on his chest are not related.

At kick off the noise in the stadium was far from quiet as the dwarves drinking through their hangovers were screaming at the elves who were just not rowdy enough. One dwarf fan was seen to be physically ill, this may have been due to 3 yards of ale, he however reports that it was due to the french fancies the elves were passing around.

The match started with a strong kick from the dwarves, Butrekson nervous son of legend Butrek skied the ball and the elf catcher called a fair catch and the match was off. Initially it appeared that the dwarves were going to be in trouble as some flat footed work by the blockers and some missed coverage assignments from the blitzers and runners allowed both elvish catchers deep into the redzone. The elf team quickly established what looked to be a strong position with a caged pocket for thrower Belsathion Noroeme to throw from. Belsathion Noroeme threw and the ball fell well short of either receiver. Neither were in coverage and looked appalled at would could generously be described as a very dwarvish throw. The dwarf runner Butrekson soon took the initiative and grabbed the ball flinging himself behind the safety of blockers who by this stage had stood back up. The dwarf team were far from safe as the quick break from the elves had left the dwarves in a right old state. There were some big plays and the blockers soon put elf blitzer Rildion Augdirdar on his arse a place he remained for most of the match.

It look like the 1st half was going to end with the dwarves making a slow push for a TD. Until one of the troll slayers got caught in a mad frenzy and rather than ripping the head off the lanky lineman choose instead to push him into the dwarf cage. This led to a chaotic scrum and when the ball popped out with 2 turns left in the half it was in the hands of thrower Belsathion Noroeme once again. 2 Catchers down field (they had thrown their toys out of their cots and just stayed there as the dwarves had made their move) and a thrower with all the numbers on his side threw the ball straight at the ground. Butrekson again smothered the ball and this time held it to guarantee a 0-0 score.

bobrek was confident at half time and was over heard telling his dwarf team that the elves (2 of whom were sitting in the medics tent sipping hot chocolate being fanned) were weak and as they were receiving the ball after the half that the match was over already.

Going into the second half Butrekson got the ball from the kick off and made a slow assured assault on the elf half. With the exception of the troll slayers who appeared to enjoy staring at the clouds a little more than was expected of them the dwarves stomped their way to a TD. They were unusually hasty for dwarves and were only 1-0 up with 4 turns to go. The elvish blitzer Rildion picked the ball passed it to the catcher in the pocket who looked down field. This time the dwarf Secondary had covered the tackle zones and the thrower was forced to try a short pass to the sideline. However as Belsathion Noroeme appears to be feeble even by elf standards failed again and simply dumped the ball incomplete straight off the pitch. The ball came back onto the pitch into the waiting hands of Butrekson who made a swift line to the weak side of the elf line. 3 Turns later he was in the end zone. Blitzer Rildion Augdirdar had once again fallen over and had no choice but to watch the young runner emulate his father and dance into the endzone. The final score was 2-0.

tl:dr - Trax did very little wrong. Elves without war dancers are surprisingly tough but in the end very beatable. Trax had to rely to an extent on his ability to pass the ball. His Thrower failed entirely and left him with little option but to try and slow the dwarves down. If you have read that all well done I salute you. It's great to be back bloodbowling again :D.

Validated yours and lucius', and bob and trax's matches. Someone else can validate mine and velaphor's.

Epic report bob. Looks like the b4st4rds are continuing last season's roll...

You guys who've had your matches admined can take your skill ups etc.

Re: Dwarf Fortress Succession Game - Sign-Up

[mod]Moved Gombol's post from the DF succession game sign-up thread to the Blood Bowl thread, which is the only one that seems to make sense. Nanor's reply just comes with it. Suspect clicking on the wrong link in the shoutbox notice bar.[/mod]
