Re: Dwarf Fortress Succession Game - Sign-Up

[mod]Moved Gombol's post from the DF succession game sign-up thread to the Blood Bowl thread, which is the only one that seems to make sense. Nanor's reply just comes with it. Suspect clicking on the wrong link in the shoutbox notice bar.[/mod]

Bloody small screen. Sorry, typed that from my iPhone. :/ thanks ronin.

Almost late for the game the Gallpeak Facemaulers downed their last dregs of ale and then quickly departed the pub they had been ravaging for the past 6 hours. To make sure they made it on time the team captain told the Aulver the werewolf that there was even more beer inside the stadium. The rest of the team simply followed the gaping hole he made through the crowds. They squared up against the Medikz orks who want to hurt you and then patch you up (honestly i dont know which part will hurt worse)

The first half saw the ball drop to the Facemaulers who made a quick push down the sidelines still fueled by drink and rage over there only being orc fungus beer available on tap in the stadium. The TD came after many hard knocks and unconscious werewolves, lineman and runners. A second TD was almost in the works after a tricky dodge attempt but at the last second all those weird dark elf liquors kicked in an he keeled over on the touch line unable to score.

With only 7 men left on the pitch it was impossible to stop the medikz brutal push for their very own TD and even more knock outs occured. With very few men on the pitch and blood alcohol levels running low it was impossible to get another touchdown (though they bloody did try) when the ball came back to the facemaulers.

Result 1-1 draw.

Well played match by Kateryne with unlucky rolls on both sides.

So its saturday with two games left to play so lets get some blood bowl done. After some teething problems it seems the league is in full swing.

Got a lot of sympathy for this due to the iphail typing system being crap and designed for someone with needlefingers.

However, this is the last day in week one.

D and Huung, and Gombol and Dragon:

Please get your games played.

It would be a real shame to have to admin force two 0-0 draws in the first week of a new league!

On a barely related note, at least ghostwolf preserved the reputation of the league admins with a 1-1 draw, after two fairly inglorious losses...

Match complete, 2-0 for Huung. I like to think it was close, though, with an almost certain touchdown in the last turn of the first half thwarted by a failed go for it roll, some really sleepy vampire players, and some really mean dice in the second half. Still a good game, even if the damn elven catchers managed to escape injury :p

A 2-0 victory really doesn't represent just how close the game was. My first game against a vamp team, and boy can they move. I had more nail biting moments in that game than any of the last league, really touch and go stuff - especially with the rain making it much harder to actually do anything with the ball.

The dice were hugely fickle, and went from a triple defender down for D, to a double attacker down rerolled into another double attacker down. Not to mention the failed go for it roll, which was gutting to see after all the work that went into the play.

If the dice had played a little differently the game could easily have swung to a 1-1 draw, or possibly a 2-1 to D. Good game!

I can't do squat. I keep organising games with him, but he doesn't come online.

OK, we'll deal with this tomorrow over breakfast. Ronin, Ghostwolf and myself are all under one roof. Giggedy.

Do we know if Dragon is actually still wanting to participate, because we still have the power and the option to sub in Tempscire if required.

I just imagined a massive grand Dwarven hall with a stone round table while you guys feast like kings!

I have been known to lend out my hall on occasions. Is a nice occasion for the tourists and provides a nice spot to hurl abuse at passing elves.

We will feast like kings on fry up.

OK week one is finished, and week 2 games are free to be played.

We had to force one game, a 2-0 win to Gombol, as Dragon was unable to play this week.

Essentially, what we want to do for the next few weeks is this:

We are keenly aware Christmas is coming (and most of us are getting fat, probably ON geese) and people will not be able to play, have prior commitments etc.

Week 2 will proceed as usual. Our aim was to have a sort of bye week across christmas/new year. However, our current plan is this, and it offers the benefits of flexibility.

We will see how long it takes week 2 games to be played. Hopefully, they can all be done within the span of this week. If that is the case, we will finish week 2 and start week 3. If not, we will let week 2 continue on, open for people to try and get their games done. Week 2 will end whenever all the games are played, OR on the 2nd of January, when week 3 will officially start.

The end of week three will be 9th of January, though this is flexible, if everyone gets their games played.

Essentially, we have a shifting boundary when we can end week two and start week three dependent on if all games are played, but there will be no forcing of games for week 2 until 2nd of january. If we can play the games and start week 3 early, and have a longer, relaxed week three then good, if not, no worries.

Hopefully this fairly reasonable schedule is ok for everyone. 2 games between now and January the 9th doesn't exactly seem like a big ask to us.
