And so we hit the half way point of the league. Its been a real rollercoaster so far and i'm really chuffed with the participation and effort thats gone in, a big thank you to everyone involved.

What will this second half of the league hold? Will the leaders luck take a turn for the worst? Are there some high lvl player deaths on the cards? Will underdogs begin to rise from the shadows to usurp the current leaders?

I certainly hope so. I mean seriously who wants trax to win? :)

This weeks games are as follows

Thatbloke VS waterproofbob
Pandawithissues VS Lucius101
Huung VS Comrade_phil
Dragon VS Ronin Storm
Kasatka VS Traxata
Ghostwolf67 VS Velaphor
Gombol VS DoctorD

May lady luck smile upon you rather than kick your teeth in.

Battle of the Phils this week! Let me know when you're about, Phil. I should be free pretty much any night apart from Thurs/Fri (and possibly Mon/Tues).

Dragon: can be somewhat flexible but later in the evening is often better for me. 22:00 UK time onwards. Friday/Saturday/Sunday next week are no good, though.

So, this week's games marks the midpoint in our season. The current standings are attached.

Sorry. Don't know why the thumbnail is coming out small. It's the same size as all the other ones.

Maybe wednesday or thursday then. I'll try to be online on one of those days.

Myself and Huung fought out the battle of the Phils. Huung came out victorious with a 2 - 1 victory but 4 players lighter than he started, although only 1 will miss the next match. 2 Skinks found themselves too injured to continue but will be back for the next game.

Both teams set out to play to their relative strengths. Long passing for the Wood Elves against the general violence of the Lizardmen. The dice had different ideas of what was to happen though, as both teams suffered badly with poor rolls for the majority of the game. Each drive was met with a turnover, with either an elf or a lizardman finding the situation they were in too tough.

Clever passing play from the Wood Elves found them in plenty of space behind the Lizardmen defensive line and whilst players attempted to join in the attack they found themselves either blocked with the prehensile tail of the Kroxigor, or tripping over a carefully positioned skink. It didn't matter as the Lizardmen were unable to find a way to block the attempt and the score going to 1 - 0 after the first 6 turns.

The Lizardmen responded by injuring several elven players, one with a fractured arm who will now miss the next match. The fractured arm brought an end to the half and both teams went off awaiting the next half. One KOd elf found the whole thing too much and failed to return for the beginning of the second half.

The Lizards quickly set about equalizing the score with a Skink running through the elven defense. Several Saurus surrounded the Skink and after a bit of unfriendly shoving the Skink lept forwards for the equalizing touchdown.

With three turns left the Lizardmen defense seemed to switch off for a split second allowing a couple of Elves to dart through (one with the ball). A couple of misplaced tackles and there was only a Skink that could even attempt a tackle. Several Saurus moved to intercept any other Elves attempting to join the attack, but the Skink got a sudden attack of nerves and with 1 turn remaining, tripped over his feet. This allowed a relieved Elf to make the touchdown and to bring the score to 2 - 1.

The match ended with the Elven team trying desperately to avoid anymore contact with the Lizardmen, who despondently seemed to accept the scoreline. The match finished 2 - 1 to Huung's Hoppers.

Would Wednesday work better for you, Dragon? I can do later, on Thursday, but if that could be a problem for you after work then we might otherwise miss our slot.
