The Lord of the Half-rings managed a 1-0 victory over Team Fanservice, but at a terrible cost. The fate of Middle Earth is now surely doomed as the Amazon’s killed not only Merry, but also Frodo! Although in what was quite fitting revenge, the turn after Frodo was killed, Bilbo, in a fit of rage, blitzed the offending Amazon and snapped her neck!

Commiserations to Xar though as everything was against him – my Halfling chef managed to get 5 rerolls for the game, meaning Xar had 0 rerolls for the whole match! Also, the weather was rain, which meant any ball handling was at -1 penalty, only for it then to change to snow near the end of the match! If the halfs were 1 turn longer he would have definitely scored in the first half too, as he ended up just short of the end zone.

One disappointment from the match was the lack of Halfling tossing. Only 1 the whole match and Quickbeam could only manage to faceplant the Gaffer. I hope there will be a lot more in the next match (Halfling tossing, not faceplants).

The fate of Middle Earth now rests on the shoulders of Sam and Pippin (with a little help from Bilbo), so here’s hoping they can survive their next match vs Aelisha’s Lizards.

Well, the upside of that game was that I learned the importance of the Halfling Master Chef and used it to slaughter Bloke's team. :p

my poor poor rerolls :(

I generally feel taking away someone else's rerolls is more valuable than having more yourself.

Having extra rerolls tends to make you less wary, more aggressive and take more risks. Them having less takes them out of their comfort zone and makes them prone to premature turnover.

yeah the Chaos having 5 rolls and getting an extra one per half on kick off rolls really stretched my 2 rolls
