Yeah, my TV is over 1700 now, I'm imagining Panda would be taking the axe to that, but so many fun players in there. . . .

Ugh. If I do win d1, I really don't need that. I have more money than I can use as it is. My TV is soaring away thanks to all the admin'd wins, I get the feeling I'll need to retire this team next season due to its TV, even though I reckon I've only played about 10 actual games with them. They're just getting fun, too :(

You don't need to spend the cash. Just let it sit there and use it to replace players as needed. It's good to have the spare cash for that.

You could actually get another skink, even with the TV increase for that, but after that your team should be fine. And as you say, they are just starting to be fun - so keep them. The only reason to retire a team due to high TV is that nobody can beat it (since things are supposed to be fun for both sides).

And if the opponents are willing to try - well, then give them a chance, then beat them ;)

Xarlaxas - your team seems to make great sense as well. Nothing to fire there. (Possibly needs a dirty player for fouling, though) :p

-

Since I'm pretty sure all division winners will be getting 100k, I'll be entering next season with a TV of 1980, or possibly 2070 if I also buy a catcher, and I have no intention of slowing down

As dreamy says, as long as your TV makes sense, that's the key thing. 10 cheerleaders and 10 ass coaches is not efficient use of TV...

Developed players that have a role, and no negative stat modifiers have a pplace on the team.

Hey Xylak, when are you available to stomp some skinks? I'm generally free between 7 and 10pm during the week, off on holiday next week, so weekend availability will be somewhat patchy...

Ummmm.... only options really are Thursday if there's no WoW raid or Friday.
I won't know about Thursday until about 7:30 - 8:00.
Almost any time at the weekend is good for me.

If my Tuesday or Wednesday nights get cancelled I'll throw you a PM.

Xarlaxas has two players with reduced AV, which is bad. However those are on players with stat bonuses, and stat bonuses are important for Amazons, and blodgers (players with both block and dodge) are at least reasonably protected against harm. (And the team has extra players enough to cover)

They should still be observed, in case they start spending more time stunned or off the pitch than is acceptable, and once the rest of the team is even more complete one of them might be replaced to skill up a replacement.

Or if nothing else one can at least ignore using the apothecary on them, letting them die if it happens.

To be fair, I haven't looked at his roster in a while.

Armour 6 is too low IMO, unless they are strength increases, I'd probably think very hard about cutting them loose.

A Thrower with Agility bonus and Safe Throw, a Blitzer with Move Bonus, Guard and Thick Skull.

I guess I'd suggest skilling up the 3 SPP Blitzer to guard first, after that removing the fast blitzer and skilling her replacement up to guard, and finally replacing the thrower and skilling her replacement up to block.

And somewhere along the line getting another linewoman and skilling her up with dirty player - kick them where it hurts ;)

I dont think i would dump the Thrower, even though he does have -AV. +AG is just too awesome a skill for a Thrower and as a Thrower, she shouldn't be getting hit much anyway. I would likely dump the smacked up Blitzer though.

I agree on it being great, but there is also a Block Sure Hands non-crippled thrower.

But by the time all my other suggested skillups and exchanges are finished the point will either be moot, or superceded by a new and more urgent problem. ;)

I already have roughly 400k in the bank (I think). Even if all my skinks went splat in one match I could replace them all! I find the 12 roster is working fine at the moment, I think I actually sacked my 13th player a few weeks ago to avoid a wizard being induced against me. This is the real pain for me - I'm more worried about low TV teams, as they have nothing to lose and can afford things like wizards and bribes :(

At least next season I might be getting some inducements, rather than having them all against me :p

yea but wizards suck... I used one against Dreamy in my last match, fireballed a group of 4 players and only one of them went down. And it passed its armour roll so was only out for one turn :/

Most of the inducements are crap.

The only ones worth using are extra rerolls, bloodweiser babes and the halfling masterchef. Maybe extra bribes for teams using secret weapons.

Ones that would be worth using if we used extended inducements include the totally abusive AG+ potion (singlehandedly keeping extended inducements from ever seeing the light of day whilst I administer the league) and the ability to take rerolls off your opponent. (Bad habits or something).

Taking guarranteed rerolls off your opponent is outrageously useful, and it's guarranteed, rather than the masterchef, though you don't see the rerolls come back to you.

Bloke: Are you still up for our game this evening?

Wizard ain't crap, but he's a crap shoot.

He can miss three out of three players completely (as he did once when I used him) and he hit all three players, KO:ing two and BH:ing the third, as happened once when I got it used against me.

And I think I've ultimately faced more meaningless lightning bolts than meaningful ones (in that they stopped a score or even allowed the opponent to score) - some by rolling that "1" for a miss, and others for failure of aiming at the right target.

On the other hand, sometimes it works - but you have to remember to use him, and do it at the right time, and then roll lucky.

-

The inducements you list are certainly the easiest ones to use. But the Star Players (or an occasional mercenary) can be very valuable too. They have to be picked to match your opponent, though, and sometimes they simply are not worth it.

Other times, like when playing a much bashier team, just getting four extra mercenary linemen to put on the LOS all the time as elf, woodie or skaven can be a delight. :p

Sorry Xylak ...

Score: 2 - 2
Players left on pitch at end of match: Xylak 9, Me 5
Players injured: Xylak 1, Me 3
Players dead: Xylak 1, Me 0
Players ejected by ref: Xylak 1, Me 2

Rather brutal, bloody and fun :) (shame the picture ended up resized to non-visible)

Just lost a game today due to lighting bolt... Orc blitzer was completely out of range of any blitz. Bam... ball down...

But i've seen many a fireball wasted
