Thankfully I played the board game for years, so I've got a pretty good grip on the rules, even if it's been awhile, but I'll run through a fair few games anyway.

One for real time and one for turn based?

Me and panda talked it over and are thinking turn based for the moment. There isnt a way to integrate both as far as i can tell. The rule setting will be most likely be turn based blitz competition but obviously we will need to see where peoples preferences lay.

I'd like to play as close to the original rules as possible, and apparently real-time isn't brilliant, so.. Yeah.

But I don't mind either way. So long as I get to play.

I belive having Turn Based would be better, since most are "new" to the game and such.

I've only checked it out briefly, but i feel turn based is much more skillful and tactical.

I count 13, which is the more than the number of different races. It would be nice to keep the league as diverse as possible, as nothing would suck harder than playing one race 5 games in a row, as they all play differently.

Obviously we're not going to tell people what they can or can't use, but it would be useful to have people put their preferences (multiple) up here before we start in order to meet in the middle with this. No real rush to do this (its not like we're going to start tonight), so play the game a little to get to grips with how each team works.

I would be interested in playing as Skaven, Dark elves or wood elves.

Orks only personally. Not a fan of the other "Fantasy" races. So would prefer that.

I've only tested Chaos, but i think i'm happy with them. As long as i get a fighty side, so Orks, Chaos, Dwarves...

Hmm, in rough order:

Orks, Goblins, Lizardmen, Humans

Given the calls already made, I'm fine starting my list at Lizardmen.

I have yet to play the game, but skaven will be the first race i try. That being said, its unlikely ill try just one race before i decide.

After accually playing, tried 2 races (Orks and Dark Elves. tried Elves 'cause Orks kept dropping the ball when trying to pass. =/) And I'll now either be Dark Elves, or Wood Elves.

Dark Elves seem viscious from what i've seen... fast and agile, and able to take and dish out some of a pounding.

I'm just glad they haven't got Ogres or Vampires in the game yet... those'll break it like they did the tabletop!

Dark Elves are like Dark Eldar. Swift. Deadly. Able to pack a punch but not take too much of one. But at least they can catch a damn ball! *Shakes fist at Orks*

Not sure what facilities are included in Blood Bowl's league system natively, but just found a thread for BB Manager.

BB Manager is an application that is installed on your PC and which records your BB Cyanide matches to analyze them ; you can also easily manage your leagues and display images of ranking, hall of fame, graveyard etc. on your forums or websites.

Might be worth checking out.

Also a thread of links to various help, guides, etc that could be helpful.
