Controlling the christmas No 1

Bit of trivia - to get to No.1, RATM sold about 600,000 copies. Back in 1981, the No.1 single sold over 10,000,000.

Shows how much the single market has declined.

Interesting point for those talking the label up and how theyve made a fortune and how it's a clever idea. RATM have promised a free UK tour next year on the back of this so the record label cant be that involved. In fact I am certain it is purely coincidental.

Also nanor if you are looking for Joe's reaction there are a few videos on the bcc news website about it and he took it well. If he deserves to be number one he'll get it in the future if he doesn't then he'd just be another one hit wonder that influenced no one.

His song was horrible and while Killing in the name isn't the greatest song in the world, to me it is a much more impressive song mainly due to the technical aspects of the instruments. At least they wrote and performed it rather than just singing it - that there is the difference in my eyes.

Yes, because you all totally bought RATM based on the merits of the song...

Its no point playing their game by a different set of rules surely?

As a song, its 1) written by them, not miley cyrus (who didn't originally write it anyway I'd guess) and 2) performed by them, not by some random orchestra as a backing track.

Any song in my opinion is better in those respects.
