[mod]After consideration, this really has moved out of the realms of "Hey Admins" and is really an "Other Games" topic. Moved.[/mod]

tsk Ronin... All you had to do was "approve" the clan and you would've sealed the deal. Think, man! :p

I wouldnt mind a Call of Duty subforum user group for all CoD things in general, but not limited specifically to CoD2. However, its safe to say that CoD2 would be the main point in focus.

BF2 clan user group? CoD2 clan user group.
BF2 clan sub-forum? CoD2 clan sub-forum.

I see no "Battlefield" sub-forum :)

Like Tetsuo said if theres gonna be a sub-forum it should be all things CoD, since I'm sure theres people here who may not necessarily play CoD2 but still like to play CoD and CoD : UO

Actually, recently all Battlefield activity was concentrated into one Battlefield usergroup. It was formerly BF2 because BF2 was the main clan game played, and not BF1942 or BF:V but eventually the BF2 smokecloud dropped and it was revealed that the '2' after the name DID mean there were predecessors :)

And following on from what Gibsonfire said, there are still a lot of people who play and prefer CoD and UO to CoD2.

whens the subforum and user group coming ?

When there's enough content to justify it. :)

If you're looking for clan forums then keep going as you are and when it's an obvious need (to me) then I'll make the stuff needed.

But my aim here is to make a CoD2 clan, not a CoD in general clan.

Thats not what Tetsuo saying, the BF sub forum is for everything battlefield apart from clan matters, the BF2 clan sub forum is for everything clan related to BF2. So for instance with CoD, there could be a CoD (General) sub forum and a CoD2 clan based sub forum.

As Gibsonfire is indicating, there's certainly two ways to take this, possibly even following both.

  1. A general Call of Duty forum.
  2. A specific Call of Duty 2 clan forum.

I'm fine with either if they justify themselves. The former, for example, will find it hard to justify itself because there have only been 16 threads on CoD2 since the beginning of this year, most of them more than 4 months dead. That's only 2 threads a month so really not stressing the Other Games fold.

The second has a different niche and fulfills a different need. If you've got a clan and you're starting to get games then you can have a private forum and usergroup for it. Until then, I'm holding off because the configuration of our current forum can make additional usergroups complicated.

That's the thing, we can't start getting matches going untill we get the place to discuss matches, AKA a sub-forum, you may think I'm being a little stuborn, but a clan on a game such as CoD2 is all but futile without a place to discuss clan matters, private from the rest of the world.

Indeed a valid point... though it may not get much use initially, having an area that is out of bounds to opponents will be essential for a new clan... (to stop spying by potential opponents).

I know us BF2ers would not be happy if people from AWOL (or any other clan) were able to waltz right in here and see all of the posts regarding any tactics and meetings, etc...

Aye, we have the man power for a match, but not the resources...
You did say to get a group before you give us the resources...

I've made the forum and the usergroup. If it doesn't get used I'll nuke it.

Access to the usergroup and moderation with the clan forum is current with PsiSoldier.

Psi: you'll need to check the usergroup list regularly for new member requests as there's no warnings that there are people waiting.
