Has improved my spelling massively over the last several years, through a campaign of a never ending torrent of red lined harassment, has also reduced typos which I otherwise wouldn't have noticed if not for the aforementioned harassment.

I've reached a point now where right clicks of those red lines are subject only to laziness, as most errors are correctable through actually making corrections to the words because of spelling ability improvements from time subjected to this script.

As evidenced by the first line, it does not assist with grammar.

That implies that at some point in the future, the steam box will only be an operating system, and in fact anyone can just turn ANY harddrive partition into a "steam box".

I have to say a Steam OS in competition with, and not based on, windows. Would be interesting.

SteamOS is just going to be another distro of Linux... which was one of many things Gabe said in that interview.

I think the "I have my own gaming rig" crowd fit under the "super high end" designs discussed by gabe. There's no reason you can't have a steamos partition on your machine, but then again not sure I can see the reason for it assuming Steam itself retains full compatibility. Possibly if the OS is tuned to only be running steam with no background tasks then you might get a tad more performance from your machine, but at the cost of not being able to run TS/Mumble/Vent and the like

What part of the console gaming crowd do you think is casual? The CoD players, perhaps?

Also, why would they ever even bother if there weren't money in it?
