[i40] Seating Arrangements

Ok, seating plan restrictions, in terms of who wants to sit where and next to/close to people (logic puzzle ftw):

-3 WFB guys sat next to each other
-Solemn on a wall-facing seat, additionally must be sat next to silk and ideally next to/close to me (demanding, eh? :D)
-slidey next to silk
-3dg3 next to Wol and bob
-Vibs next to bob
-Ronin/Wol with window seats
-Iron fist and Tets next to each other
-Huung next to Velaphor, also as close to spicypixel as possible
-Gribley next to someone he knows (afaik only me)
-Gombol next to/near someone he knows/gets on with

That's what you have to work with, in case you want to try coming up with a plan yourself :p

I think that last plan was just fine; you're never going to get something absolutely perfect. Anyway, it should be looked at as an opportunity to meet some new people, so sitting beside new folks should be as much a pleasure as sitting beside old faces.

I'm having a play. Thanks for the parameters. I don't remember why I needed a window seat; don't fret, though.

also remember the desks are probably the standard doubles so it may not be possible to have 5,5,5,5 easily

Not sure what you mean, Iron. Please would you elaborate?

Also, below an alternate plan that I believe meets the criteria that TB sets out and offers empty end seats with a potential for dumping or Rock Band:

Don't know that it's better, but it has the advantage of putting Gombol nearer me (which I think will work better for him) and me near Tetsuo (which is a thing I want). Disadvantage is that Iron, Trax and Bob are now separated by rows, which may make EVE collaborating harder. After a second iteration, I managed to keep most people in the centre/edge as they were previously.

Thoughts?

basically each of the desks seat 2 people so it'll probably be difficult to collapse the end one in the middle depending on how they have set out power cables and network etc

Oh yes, now I remember. Yeah, okay, so that'd mean that my plan just makes for empty end-of-desks, depending on what they've done for that room. May still be beneficial. Or not. Treat it as "for thought" as in the absence of any consensus I believe we should go with TB's plan as suggested. It's a good one; I'm just playing the numbers, really.

From what I remember about the desks we should be able to take 2 desks which are double and remove 1 and rotate the other.

Depends on the widths and things but I think it might work

depends how power and network are laid out as there may be a lot of cables at that end...

I may have just saved you all £4.50...

A guy I get on with on IRC is wanting to come to the event, and is happy to take the empty spot in the clanbox with us :)

I'll know for definite by the end of the day either way

Ok it's confirmed, we now have "kalleth" in Oblivion's vacant spot :)

Means less room for projector but saves us all £4.50

Right. As haven still has a ticket (afaik), I presume you have sold this last ticket (that you bought, bloke?) So we don't all owe you a fiver? :p
