I find it plays really well with mouse and keyboard. It seems to have been designed to be played exactly that way.

Ive tried using joystick, and also my strategic commander, but nothing beats the efficiency of a keyboard and mouse setup - it is an FPS engine after all...

Apparently the planets aligned and it installed up to 4.9 finally. Only took 4 days. Now the only problem is the internet games window wont open...

I had the same issue, apperently there is a need to read instructions some where or something. I just kept complaining until my mate pointed out why most IT problems are simply ppl not reading instructions :p.

You have to open Crysis wars and log onto a Gamespy account there so you can access the multyplayer servers then click an option to alway log you on when you start up, then when you start up the MWLL it will use that setting to access the servers.

Hope this helps.

"This Book outlines the codified rules of behaviour all members of the warriror caste are expected to uphold. It is the very definition of what it means to be a MechwWarriror. You must study it well, for ignorance of its contents are grounds for caste demotion.

Each passage represents centuries of testing and modification, trial and error. The protocol herein has descended from Kerensky's own words. There are only two books that are older than this one and still being read. You are therefore expected to live and die by its instructions.

The Warrior Caste is above all others in the Clan. The Labourer, the Technician, the Merchant and the Scientist all look to you for guidance, for you are the most perfect of all perfection. The Warrior is the very top of culture. You are the teacher and the protector, the governor and parent.

As a MechWarrior you will fight in the Inner Sphere for the glory of the Clans. There is no higher honour, no greater glory, than to enter combat outnumbered by the largest margin possible and emerge victorious.

Your tool in the field is the BattleMech. It is your mount. You will learn to pilot it. You will become part of it and it, you. The BattleMech is designed to translate your will into the actions of the machine. As a MechWarrior, your very thoughts equal your foes defeat.

Combat is your life. Fear not death. The Honourable will find their end in the field. Honour is the lifeblood of the MechWarrior. Without honour the MechWarrior is worth less than the dust whence he came. There is no virtue above honour. Without honour there is not life."

Someone who didnt complain so much about installing to play the game should suggest we (the thn'ers who have and enjoy MWLL) get together and do some team playing (where we the thn'ers who have and enjoy MWLL suitably ruin other peoples mechs through superior co-operative skills) or some FFA (where we the thn'ers who have and enjoy MWLL kill each others mechs. Ghostwolfs alot because he sucks hard at MWLL)

how are the controls in this, when compared to say, MW4? is it the same sort of keyboard centric scheme, or can you actually play it without needing 3 hands?

It is keyboard-and-mouse centric, but it's ultimately a shooter that's been neatly adapted rather than a mech-piloting simulator. Of all the mech games I've played, I found the controls in this easiest to manage and never for a moment missed my joystick.

SWAD for throttle and turning, mouse for torso and aiming, weapon groupings configurable on the fly though largely you won't need more than 2 or 3 groups so all usable on your mouse (assuming you have a good gaming mouse or one with many buttons!).

The 0.5 version of the mod is now out - featuring Solaris Arena style maps. Personally im not very keen on it, as the game doesn't lend itself to free-for-all deathmatch style combat, but that's just my opinion. Plenty of positive feedback on the forums.

I agree. I prefer the game in BF2-style point capture mode. That said, I also found that the complexity of mech-mix and varying terrain still (at this point) keeps most fights interesting unless one team becomes massively dominant.

True, there is a lot of variety, and i wouldn't mind Solaris Arena in a Last Man Standing mode, but when you join a server part way through and there's a bunch of Atlas and MadCatIIs running around popping scout mechs it's not fun.
