Actually, pretty sure it's the other way around. Login is still handled through their servers, amazon just serves the exe and updates and such.

well all I know is the game is more buggy than a spider cave at night right now.

Also after spending all today getting lost and getting killed after building a base can some one lend me a map or compass?

The game has only recently gone into beta. Does it surprise you it is buggy?
