It was "The Incredible Journey" but I'll allow you the remake's extended title.

Heh, i''ve only watched that once around 1996 ^^
With their home destroyed the protaganist and the prophet must fight to to protect their gang of suvivors on their journey.
Remarkably similar to to the previous film's clue, I had this film ready just incase I got one.

okay, here goes:
Holed up in a few rooms, our cast is surrounded by the enemy. It's obvious to some that their situation is hopeless. The boss, however, keeps his spirit high, at least at first. Learning that the situation grows even more dire, some of the cast tries to escape, but fails. Even in the face of all this, the boss won't admit defeat, instead losing touch with reality. Refusing surrender, s/he instead elects to take his/er life, followed by some of the other members of the cast.

A criminal running from the law heads across the country to lay low until things cool off. While training for a new job, he witnesses a murder and ends up being dragged into a conspiracy. Together with the help of a reluctant friend he manages to solve the mystery, kill the conspirators, and redeem himself.
