I second this

So, this game was Shadow of Memories. One of the more enjoyable and thought provoking games I've ever played, where you time travel to a variety of different periods in an attempt to prevent your own death, and solve a mystery.

It's not mechwarrier.

This game was Ring of Red, also for the PS2. One of the rare things, a console strategy game.
