I have managed to take exactly how many systems? Meanwhile, xar attacked with some 150 ships, and will go again in an hour or so. Ronin is passing ghost by, attacking with 3-400 ships. So that massive gulf really isn't doing me much good, is it... Meanwhile, you took out temps fairly easy, and when we tried to bite you in the ass, your much more powerful lapdog took up post, effectively hampering any advances on my part.

and here's my point: trax can actually do something, because he has 2 neighbours, not 4. Oh and if everyone else weren't in cahoots perhaps I could too, but I'm sure you guys will have a cozy time in a day or 4 when ronin and xar has assimilated me and trax :)

Just wondering if any of you guys have tried the other games that Iron Helmet have got. I tried the single player Jupiter's folly and didn't find it all that amazing but I'm now starting a game of Blights of the Immortals.
So just wondering if any of you guys would be interested.
Blights of the Immortals in the free game is a world co-op against zombies in a fantasy world of elves and orcs. In the private games you can have PvP which is what I know we all love. So if you want to join free its right here: http://blight.ironhelmet.com/game/21370834 :D

Haven't you and Ghostwolf been working together this whole time?

Common misconception. I was all for killing him till his industry outstripped both you and trax. You had your chance for a proper alliance but failed at convincing me that your course was best for my empire. You displayed weakness when you actually were weak. Sun Tzu would be very upset with you.

Another misconception is our alliance wasnt from the start of the game but an evolutionary event from ronins original trade agreement with myself and panda which grew into more and more as the rest of you were prepared to offer less and less.

Sun Tzu wasn't able to see exactly how many soldiers were currently on the field, how many could be produced and how much money his opponent had now, did he? And one could argue that a weak ally you can trust is far better that a strong one you can't.

I do feel like the game has entered a peculiar end stage. I've quite specific treaties with all but two remaining parties and my industry is large enough that I can prosecute war without any real fear of recrimination.

Ideally, at this point, the game would contain a "fine, I surrender" button because I don't think the nature of the game is about to change; my sensors don't indicate that I'm about to be back stabbed, and even if I was I have a few hundred ships generally moving around my rear in simple logistics motions, which can easily move into combat role.

So, I end up with a choice: win by running down those I'm not in treaty with, or turning on my treatied allies. I guess it's not much of a choice and that, I feel, is why the end game has turned so peculiar.

I may have spent a lot of money on science .... turns out I was supposed to ignore science and focus on economy, but we needed weapons advantage to assimilate all the others around us, so my forces are a lot less....

[Help, blank posts again.]

I was just saying that it seems like economy is the best thing to invest in first, then science and/or industry depending on how aggressive the space you're in is and how easy it is to expand. If you're in a quiet area I'd think Economy, Industry, then Science is the best bet, as you can catch up on Science quite quickly when you're rich.

At the moment I don't see myself attacking Ronin as I doubt he could be beaten without everyone allying against him, which I don't see happening, and I've learned the hard way about back-stabbing a neighbour, even if he looks like a juicy target. :p

...You do know that there's no allied victory, right?
