Riddle Me This

A bomber plane is flying at high altitude over enemy territory.

All of the planes equipment and instruments are in perfect working order and turned on.

The pilot presses the button to open the bomb bay and it opens. He then presses a button to release the clamp holding the bomb, but the bomb does not fall.

Why not?

Google is for nubs. Win this and it's your go! :)

Hmmmmm, is the bomb and it's clamp on the ground or something and completely unattached to the aeroplane? I have nooooooo idea, and yea, google is for suckas! Soooooooo, ama right? :D

EDIT. 2nd idea: Plane is flying upside down so the bomb can't fall out as gravity is somewhat against the idea of the bomb falling upwards?

Err it is high enough for the clamps to have become frozen shut/high enough that now in a zero grav area thus the bomb won't fall.

He could also be on a elliptic flight path, like the "Vomit Comet"... although I think the upside down answer is better.

The plane is up-side-down, gravity keeps the bomb pressed against the clamp.
An enemy spy blue-tacked the bomb to the clamp so even after it opened it would not fall.
A retarded amount of air pressure rushing through the bomb bay doors pins the bomb to the clamp (Would fall eventually though).
He opened the wrong clamp.
The bomb is actually a helium baloon, so it stays afloat.
When the clamp was opened the radio operator was in the middle of falling out the bomb bay, and he is now wedged between a 1000lb bomb and a 10,000ft drop.

It was a dream, all of the events are illusions.

How 'bout this one?

Although broken, it shall always exist and surround us, don't like to be confined in them and they shall outlive us all. What are ''they''?

Google is for noobs.

Hoy, :)

Upside down plane is the obvious answer. KC's zero-g suggestion is also valid and a damn good one. Absence of bomb is the obvious answer on the silly side of things. Everything else is a stretch of good will. :p

Is there a "right" answer, anyway?

Cheers,
J.

I think the expected answer is upside down plane, but I think it should go to KC on the plane being in a free-fall maneuver 'cause that's a fabulous answer.

Come on, Nanor, put us out of our misery.

upside down plane is boring though. Also we're talking a bomber that has no launch mechanism past the clamp releasing (going for fairly crappy or old bomber) that can also fly upside down for long periods or can achieve a 0 G dive causing the bomb not to fall.

Also I think we should give it to KC anyway.

... Hey, how about my elliptic flight path, then? That's the same as KC's, more or less :P

Well it doesn't really matter seeing as Decky came before both of you. :p

But by all means, battle it out in the courtyard with pistols!

Ahey, :)

... Hey, how about my elliptic flight path, then? That's the same as KC's, more or less :P

This is true only if by "more or less" you mean "exactly". :p

By this, I mean to say, d'oh! I should have spotted yours, but it didn't register, for some reason...

Cheers,
J.

Woohoo, I wins! I commend KC though for his rather more creative idea than mine, Common sense was the only mechanism that was working at that time last night, wit had left me to go grab some sleep.

Right, since I can't come up with something that would actually make sense and work, I'm gonna say something random, and whoever comes up with the most hairbrained whacky idea for how it works wins......

So two guys are jousting at the top of a large temple that rests upon a very large hill, with a large precipice below that lasts for a large amount of time.

So Bob and TB (inventive names, eh?) Are jousting, and Bob quickly jabs TB with his sword, leaving a large gash in TB's side. In agony, TB falls to the ground, and begins to roll down the hill. He continues at high speed, tumbling down the hill, hitting several large boulders along the way which proceed to increase the size of TBs large gash drastically. Upon reaching the precipice, he tumbles over the edge, and falls for approximately 19 seconds, before crashing into several pointy rock formations located at the bottom of the precipice.

TB survives. How?
