The next Battlefield game

Thats right folks, PCGamer have released the trailer of Battlefield 2142. And I gotta say, I love my Sci-Fi games, and that looks AWESOME! :D

I like the way that even though they have futuristic mecha-tanks they still appear to be using projectile weapons and also the story, for me anyway, is believable so looks like a damn good game.

An Autumn 06 release sounds too good to be true.
I expect delays galore.

me too. although there are scenes in that clip that look very similar to some ive seen before in some maps. except without the ice and robots!!! hmm maybe they will scrimp and save and make loads of add ons....another sims type game....uh oh i said it.

Planetside was one of the best games around during its time... I had so much fun playing that game. Then they introduced BFR's and about 80% of the game's subscribers left... As to begin with they were WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY overpowered. How that did not come out in testing I do not know... but still the best gaming moment I ever had was in PS not long after the BFR's were introduced :)

Looks pretty good, but I agree with thatbird, some parts of the game look as if they imported them from BF2, hopefully thats not true because I heard somewhere that DICE (or should I say EA) are going to make the third battlefield completly from scratch because for BF2 they used a highly modified reactor engine, the same one that was used in BF1942 and BFV.

Personally, that engine looks the same as the BF2 one. The view from the walker looks a LOT like the view from the SAM sites in BF2, etc. Not that this is a bad thing, I just get the feeling that this game is a re-modelled, re-weaponed, re-textured BF2. Still, I wanna play it!

Yes it does look a lot like that and for that reason I'm not really that interested (although I'll probably buy to try).

I enjoy BF2 for the arcade war simulation and I'll be looking for something to replace it if this is the way DICE are taking the francise.

Reminds me of Command and Conquer, what with the Titan style walkers and the Orca-style helijets, and the infantry armour looks really similar to the GDI minigunners. Still, Ive been wishing upon a star for a new CnC FPS (I liked Renegade a lot) so... hooray! etc.

im glad u guys agree because i was having this convosation with some guys on bf2 the other day and now dice has gone i think it might be the downfall of BF

unless they decide to focus on it and make it from new they wont pay enough attention to it and re-use what they have.

EA have fallen short for me.... i used to worship them...now there screwing me over every day! i need to find a new idol....any ideas???

Looks damned great. But your right, deadline is a bit optimistic.
