Haven't had much time to play it yet but enjoyable so far. Can't give you anything in the way of detail because of the rather strict NDA though.

I need to get some games in with the rest of the THN / TC beta group as well.

Indeed. Had a feeling that there would be an NDA on it. There's probably a secret invite-only usergroup on here now for bf2142 :)

For those people who aren't playing the beta through ED, you have another shot at beta via Fileplanet's beta promotion. If you're already a member, worth the download. If not, I'm ambivalent as to whether it's worth your while being a member just to download this.

A question, but Im not sure you can answer it due to your strict vow of silence :p Does 2142 have much the same system reqs. as BF2, or is it much more punishing? By the look of the screenshots etc. it doesnt look to be much of an aesthetic improvement over BF2, so I'm holding out some hope :)

IIRC from an interview I saw somewhere I believe that they are aiming for this game to have the same (or at least very similar) specs as BF2...

Just bare in mind guys that it is a beta version that we are playing at the moment. I am sure it is ok to say that we have recently started playing a newly released beta version which has significant improvements over the previous one - this includes in performance issues.

I would expect the final release version to have improvements in all issues especially performance.

I would tend to agree that with 'thatbloke's assessment. Remember BF2142 is only 15 months newer than BF2
