Battlefield Bad Company 2

Same for me, there, blokely. I used Steam in the past as it was a nice cheap price. Play had it for £17 and Steam had it for £27. No brainer really.

I don't like CDs and don't mind paying for the privelige

I find that £10, which is more than 50% extra than I paid, is not worth getting the game a few days early (seeing as I'm busy until Monday anyway) or the lack of CDs. If it comes down in price on Steam at some point, and I like the game enough, I'll get it again.

If all yous lot are buying it for PC then let me know how it is. I thought it might be another one of those console-watered-down type deals that Psi and Nanor love so very much. I was planning on buying it for one of the consoles originally, depending on whether my chum gets it or not.

Tetsuo! Na, DICE have gone on record and actually told people about everything they've done to make it better on the PC. Which is nice. I'm sure there will still be some "console-ness" left in, but it seems they've had a fair go at making it better.

Toggle ADS, no toggle crouch = giant failogram.
It doesn't feel too consoley from what I've seen so far but only played a few mp maps.

Also having no option to not toggle ADS and not being able to sprint out of aim is also made of failomite. I think I'd be able to get over not having toggle ADS although I really don't like it, if I was able to sprint out of aim. I'm hoping it's just a setting I've missed somewhere but if it isn't then my first impression is MEH.

Aim down sight, having to click it on and off is a pain in the ass.
Lack of prone is a bit annoying as well. I'm actually really enjoying it there's just stuff missing which is odd because it's all stuff that seems pretty basic and stuff I assume will be there. It makes the whole experience a little clunky and not very fluid.

I do however enjoy the fact that you can destroy the buildings and people die from having buildings collapse on them. Makes taking out camping snipers tres fun.

Meh, no toggle signt isn't a deal-breaker for me, I'm kinda used to it with borderlands.

Toggle-crouch may well come with a patch in future, but I just remap it to a key that is more comfortable (or perhaps a mouse button) and I then don't see it as an issue, other than time getting used to your new remaps :D

Against NPCs like you have in borderlands I can live with toggle ADS I don't like it but I can live with it. In a mp FPS where I actually need to be able to react quickly I can't. I also found that it worked very fluidly in borderlands but I'm often getting frustrated here where it doesn't feel right. However like all good BF games there are lots of bugs which will mean I'll probably end up loving and hating it. :p

BF2 and BF2142 only got better with the patches that followed, I'm sure similar will happen here :)

Thought I'd mention I've created a Battlefield channel on TS3, if it needs sub-channels for a division between BF2/2142/BC2 then let me know and I can create them.

I had exactly the same concerns as bob, hopefully they will either swap it to toggle crouch and not toggle ADS or give us the options to change it our selves.

Toggle for either is evil. Should always be options, never locked in. And especially not locked in and then inverted!

Has anyone else had any problems adding BF2142 to the veteran page, so far i have been unable to add it.
