Hoy, :)

That said, this will require a level of commitment of time - probably 1 1/2 hours a week for 6ish weeks. - Think carefully if you are likely to be able to provide this.

I've been mulling this around in my head for a bit. I'm thinking, would it not be possible to relax the "week" just a tad?

I have absolutely no problems coming up with a 1 or 2 hour session every 8 or 9 days, but absolutely every week might be a bit strained.

Still interested, though...

Cheers,
J.

I would love to say yes, but it looks like the tournament mechanism is pretty heavily locked down so that a game does seem to need to be played each and every week for the duration of the tournament.

Unfortunately we can't say that for absolute certain as the configuration rules have a complete lack of documentation, so far as we can see, but that's our best guess after a couple of hours of all three of us fighting with it last night.

I believe that you can play your tournament game at any point during that week, but it will need to be within the week.

Panda, Ghostwolf: anything further to add/amend?

Well, t looks like the week system is pretty strict, and that is what we will have to use. However, in other words, you have to play 2 games in 14 days, with one in each weekly half of the 7 days. When you play those 2 games is up to you and your opponent. It would be possible to play one game at the very start and end of this period, I.E with about twelve days between, however you would then have to 'roll back' your game in the next week if you see what I mean. Eventually the games will catch up with you, and you still need to play one game a week.

- I'm basically saying its flexible in timing, but rigid that you NEED to put the time in at SOME POINT in the 7 days. - Flexibility will also be limited by your opponent of that week

Say we played 5 games:
week1------week2-----week3-----week4----week5
MTWTFSS MTWTFSS MTWTFSS MTWTFSS MTWTFSS
g------------'g-----------g----------'g-----------'g

Might work for you, as an example

Just done another update to the roster. If your details aren't on the first post then I've missed you so please post again.

Current state of the league is 10 confirmed players, 5 definite statements of interest but no login/team confirmations, and 5 tentative (to various levels) statements of interest.

Still no Dark Elves (though Huung might fill that hole) and Skaven appear to be the team of choice (until I kill your Rat Ogre, of course, then you'll suffer)... all the other races are represented but feel free to dive in and pick what you wish (except, perhaps, for Skaven).

Pfffft, unless this is incredibly dissimilar to the tabletop version, running 4 GRs outstrips starting with a RO...

Sounds like it's going to be an unusual mix of teams :p

Gutter runners are relatively cheap and easy to add later. If you don't start with the rat ogre, I doubt people will be able to hire him later. GR's are very easy to skill up quickly. Rat ogres are not.

That said. It'll be interesting to see what lineups the different skaven players start with.

I wonder whether there are options to look at other players' rosters?

Dark elves IMHo are a difficult choice to start with due to the relative expense of their players - It's difficult enough to put a full elf team on the field, let alone one with quality starting players.

4 GR start, buy the RO next is how I used to play. I find against starting teams the RO puts people off and scares them, but ends up being an annoyance to you as much as the enemy.

Delves are a bitch, basically expensive (slightly more flexible) humans. Going to be an interesting one to learn.

Its a totally legitimate starting strategy and works well. The rat ogre needs to be used very carefully on a starting team, but adds the backbone the skaven team ultimately lacks.

The dark elves' greatest strength is their allowance of four blitzers, and on top of that, 2 witch elves, but you can probably, viably only start a team with 3 of those (maybe four)

Oh. Did you guys find out if you could spectate at all? Having someone watching the match would be quite epic. Especially if they have a recording device, so everyone can see what happened.

If there's not an ingame spectate mode then we can use one of the streamcast services kicking about on the net.

I believe there may be a way to take replays of games and watch them again later. Will investigate this evening.
